Who had some tips on how I can transition from sys admin to security engineer. I have like 4 security related certs most recently the azure security engineer associate.

My problem is my resume is strictly system admin but I want out. I’m willing to do cloud engineer as well.

Props in advance

Applied for the Sans Minority Cyber Course last year. It's like a 5 step process, why you want to get in, an assessment and some short answer questions and pre recorded interview. Made it to the pre recorded interview and didn't get accepted.

This year, the pre assessment seemed harder and I did not pass.

Really discouraged and thinking of not even pursuing this career anymore man.

Most I know who made that switch, did it through internal positions. If you are looking to move, get familiar with the niche** you want to move to.

**Identity Management, Vulnerability Management, Endpoint Protection, Network Engineering, etc.

Since everyone is saying the field is saturated now with outsourcing etc, is it best to try the Cloud Sys route? What route is the fastest, with remote work and high salary at this point I'll study 10hours a day I need a change man.
