Just look through the thread. Linux+, Network+ and Security+ would be three things my job would look at honestly, my legit advice would be to knock the cissp out instead of the security plus if you trying to kill the competition. It was the biggest reason why I didn't have to start at the bottom. You can get the associate of isc designation.

Also many of you guys would probably not even have to be super technical. There are other routes, privacy management (CIPM, CIPP, CIPT) that would be more suitable for yall.

SOC work suck but its the quickest way to learn technical skills.

Don't let your lack of experience hinder you, not every manager will hire base on experience but you must absolutely show that you can learn quickly if you lack it which means you gotta to put in the work to get your foot in the door.
If that’s the case I just wasted 3 hours taking notes from my Mike Meyers Sec+ Sy0-601 Udemy course lol.

What source material(s) do you recommend for studying? Please post link(s)

edit:
Why do I need to fill out page with my info for a consultant of ISC2 to get to me for pricing info?
Any books?

Its not really a waste most jobs ask for security plus but my lack of experience was likely more forgiveb by my former manager because I passed the cissp with zero security experience ( still started as a Senior, not typical lol) BUT I got rejected a million times :mjlol: too.

Test has changed but I used shonn Harris cissp book, the official cissp practice exam app, the official cissp book and youtube to understand terms that were new to me because people teach some terms better than others.

PDFdrive.com will have everything you need.

Damn. I just went and bought the official security+ study guide book from the comptia website. I definitely want to get the CISSP cert as my second or third cert.

Your case sounds quite rare so I rather just get more grounded since most employers and HR are dikkheads anyways when it comes to resumes and work experience.

Thank you though.

Any new torrent sites to get vm work station? or gift hub? i have a mac MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) and Ipad but I know I probably need an hp or dell right?

If you still need it, try this.. download VMware Fusion from their site and use one of these, read they work with Fusion as well as Pro.

If you want Workstation Player / Pro, you'll need to dual boot into Windows, then you just install it straight from the official website. Then try one of these from GitHub and you should be good to go.

I got that shyt last Jan. shyt just expired :beli:. Too busy to take.

I registered for it so I could get a job in devops, which i ended up doing.

Been putting this off for long enough. I paid for the CKA last March but just never got around to getting it. Gonna give myself 6-8 weeks to bang this out.

On another note, brehs, pls get on the overemployed wave. With remote work, this is the season to cake.

It’s tempting but with the way these companies like to have meetings and working sessions I’d be too stressed trying to juggle multiple meetings that can easily occur at the same time. Now if I can find a job that’s 100% assignment based with no active troubleshooting that may be diff story
