You have to be willing to accept that you probably got blacklisted and be fine with it. I was in a similar situation with a college here in SoCal. I just told myself I was blackballed and kept it moving. I don't lose any sleep over it. Any company that is willing to blackball you for this situation is not a company you would want to be at long term anyways.

Are they not hiring out there or are you just not getting any call backs?
I'm getting call backs but some of them are scams, and others the pay rate aint matching what the job description is. :francis:

Most of these jobs are requiring people to do too much for shytty pay and the experience you need to have. The funny thing is I am just looking for some level 2 help desk jobs for right now or a cloud support job.
I would be happy woth $20-$22 dollars right now given my skills and experience, but most of these jobs offering $16. I would go work at McDonalds if that was the case.

That's the IT world. Everyone is hoping to find that desperate superstar that will manage their whole environment for peanuts. Only thing I can say is maybe start expanding your search and be open to the possibility of relocating.

This is 100% facts, it's gonna be hard for me to relocate though. For now I'm just gonna keep applying byt pick up and learn new skills that are in demand and hopefully able to set my own salary :blessed:.

Finally got an offer for an AWS related role, but I'm unsure if I want to take the job. The job is in my hometown, which has a population of <130k, and limited opportunities. I'm still in my 20s, but I feel like if I moved back to my hometown I wouldn't grow, and my parents feel the same way also. Job wise I'm excited, but the location is not ideal. But at the same time I'm currently working a shyt job, in a non desired location, that is calling us back in the office come September, and I refuse to go back. I don't know if I should take the job in my hometown, or risk being unemployed come September. I'm good money wise, and if I do become unemployed I feel like I would have lots of time to level up though.

hhmmm you gotta take it man :manny: especially if you don't have enough experience. After a year or two, you can move on to something bigger and better. The key is to go whereever you can get your feet in the game.

No brainer, take the job. What do you mean you wouldn't grow? Your career isn't growing right now. You have an opportunity waiting for you and you are possibly going to be unemployed. If I was near you I'd slap you upside your head for even thinking about not taking the position:hhh:

Probably should have clarified, but by growing I meant personally "non work related things", and not professionally.

I understand what you saying... I have 3+ years of Security experience, so I'm not that inexperienced. I'm confident in my skills to get other offers, but if the job was in another location, I would have accepted it on spot. I have a lot of bad habits I need to break, and being in my home town or a small town in general is not going to help. I probably will take it though.

And how will you be growing without a job?:stopitslime:
Honestly would probably have more time to learn other things, without a job. I'm not disagreeing with you though, that being unemployed is not the best choice. But I'm concerned if I take this job, I will start living like a caveman again, partially due to my habits, and also lack of things going on in the city.

I'm not trying to shyt on you or make you feel bad but if you have security experience, why are you working a shyt job? There's tons of people with way more experience than you trying to get an opportunity like you have waiting. You have people in this thread in that exact situation. Like @Mirin4rmfar said, you can take the position, gain some experience for 2-3 years and move onto to something better in a better location. Ultimately you're going to do what you choose to do and I wish you luck either way.
