What else would you expect from a darling of the black feminist brigade. You know the agenda by now, tear down the blk man in favor of a white Kang. One of my co workers, (manless, fat, with a dry Afro) kept raving about how hilarious and gorgeous Issa Rae is and when I finally seen her picture she looked like a young Eddie Kane in the face :camby:

You must suck ass

You didn't hesitate to tear her down and push your anti feminist (which is code for anti Black woman agenda).

Did you even watch the show?

Yeah, he's yet to be shown and these dudes believe that he is engaged to the Asian girl....

I didn't like how the Black women called each other bytch... but I could relate to some of the relashionship, dating, and workplace interactions... It's right in line with the ABG
But she appears to only date Black men on this show....

Y'all (not meaning you but some dudes on the coli) some emotional creatures....

The range of Black men that was presented in the "next episodes" montage was not limiting....

The characterization of Black men as fallible human beings is no different than how the show Ballers presents Black men.

Some good, some bad, some crazy, some with glaring faults.

Good grief coli

Ironically, i watched the pilot episode to Lethal Weapon (which was good)

and they have a brother on there named "scorcese" who works their forensics (the brother standing in the picture)

down-and-dirty-lethal-weapon-season-1-episode-1.jpg

just an ordinary "EMPLOYED" cat, clearly they don't get into his personal life and all that nonsense b/c it's not that type of show

but i can guarantee you that issa rae's show won't have these types of brothers on there.

that's the only point i'm making...just write some regular, skilled, intelligent, black men on there.

what's funny is that sistas like Issa Rae will be the first person to roll her neck and cut down a white person over the shooting death of unarmed black men, but to line her pockets will depict us as uncouth salivating wild animals in heat for the masses. :comeon::coffee:

Exaggerate much :skip:

From my perspective she is gonna struggle all season on choosing between two good Black men...

The brother who has been down with her for the longest but has failed to actualize his potential (not a far stretch from the reality of many Black women) and a successful Black man who is not ready to settle down... again another reality for Black women... who said she should interact with a scientist type? She works for a non-profit and is directionless with her life. She is not in that type of brother's social circle.

I think you guys want a fairy tale depiction of Black men but are not aware of y'alls own "knight and shining armor" syndrome.

The best friend's character looks like she is going to run through a gamet of successful Black men but her personality faults will get in the way of her being a good partner for any of them.

It's just crazy to me the negative spin folks in here are putting on it without a dialogue or even watching it.

That's just my take on it but I am not looking at it from such a negatively skewed perspective

All these shows suck....corny liberal nikka shyt
Where are the black people kicking ass TV shows and movies? The zeitgeist of the Obama years is more passive/subservient negro bullshyt in the media.

And damn...there really seems to be an agenda with the glaring omission of black men from the picture.

Why do black people watch this shyt?

Funny thing is that she grew up with both her parents, her father is a doctor I believe and her boyfriend is a black college graduate so she can't fall back on the bullshyt "I never had any positive black males in my life" routine :camby:

Breh that is the hustle. Just like a middle class or upper class black dude can get a mainstream rap deal calling women bytches and hoes, slanging rocks, whipping work and shooting N-words.

A middle class or upper class black person can get a tv deal, movie deal or cable deal by promoting swirling, showing negative views of black men and women and etc.

So you see the parallels between mainstream rap and mainstream tv, movie and cable.

My biggest beef with tv is that even with all these got damn cable channels we can't get quality serious shows that aren't about black stereotypes and negative views about black families / couples.

Not only that homie. Ever since Obama has been in office seems like there has been a concerted effort to not show black couples on tv or on commercials.

It is almost like if there is one black person their significant other has to be white on a tv show or commercial.
