Lol

Wasn't my situation. Actually the exact OPPOSITE of the conversation between Lawrence and Issa happened. If my Ex would've been HALF as supportive as Issa was at that moment we might've been able to make it work

Yall jump the guns too fast:mjlol:The show is actually good:ehh:but yall nikkas is insecure & felt intimidated by a bw getting a show:sas2::mjpls:
They are so sad on here lol. Lawrence isn't even a bum like they are trying to make him out to be. He has a college degree and has been having a hard time finding a job that he's actually qualified for like a lot of black people (male and female). Also, he had his own business before but it failed.

That shyt is real as fukk. You know how many black dudes out here with college degrees working in positions beneath them? I liked the one part where he goes to see recruiter and she subltely alludes to the fact that because of his skin color, he will be unemployed for a minute.

The writers have shown with black women and their struggle with choices in the dating pool and how both of them manage to overlook their blessings. The realities of career oriented black women having to "date down" because its a struggle to date their professional equal/counterparts and how that ties into Lawrences struggles.

The exposure of the children of inner city communities are marginalized even by those that attempt to help them...

The blood gangbanger lol...

Exactly I know. I think the show is realistic. I want to see where they are gonna go with Molly's character after she dumped the guy because of her friends reaction to him not having a college degree.

I think she will give him another chance after getting curved by the dudes on Elite singles.

Many women feel an insane amount of pressure to date according to their friends standards.

I can dig the fact that they incorporated elements of black culture without being cheesy.

That's what I think is going to happen too lol. They gonna have her dating ain't shyt well off guys and still be single. Then she's gonna reach out to Jared or see him somewhere but he probably would have moved on already. Or they may go a non-predictable route and have her find a great guy with a great career (possibly Jidenna). I feel like she shouldn't have cut Jared off like that. They had a connection and she was cool with him not having a degree until her friends said something. And they didn't discuss what he does at this Enterprise job. He could be making good money there. Probably more than her.

I think the show is doing the opposite of bm bashing and is self reflection of the bw the show represents. The first scene set the standard when Issa said bw are bitter, they're tired of being told to settle. The narrative of the bw who is so successful and perfect and it's the bm around her which aren't shyt.

But slowly the show has been showing the self sabotage and delusions of grandeur of these so-called perfect black women who aren't put in bad dating situations, but are creating them.
