You liked that movie? I felt like it was an ad for cheating and wenchingSounds a little bit like Barry Jenkins' "Medicine for Melancholy." Good flick

Interesting how some of ya'll are bashing this while praising Atlanta. I can almost guarantee if Atlanta was told from the perspective of Earn's girlfriend and Gambino was a supporting character ya'll would be calling that a c00n, black-male bashing show too. And on the flip side if Insecure was told from the perspective of Issa's boyfriend and showed his struggles ya'll would be praising that show.
I think the real issue is some of ya'll just don't want to see a show that has a black female POV, which is whatever, but don't pretend like it's anything more than that
He does have a job.doesn't donald glover's character in ATLANTA have a fukking job? working at the airport? I only saw the pilot.
again, for the 10th time in this discussion: issa rae's character's live in boyfriend has 0 job - the stereotype of the black man is that we are lazy, shiftless, unemployed, and just lay up under women all day.
plus, every nikka down there IS trying to rap or be in the music business, that's not a negative stereotype any more than saying every mexican dude is obsessed w/soccer - some shyt is just the truth.
It was but I thought it a little more nuanced than that. You liked that movie? I felt like it was an ad for cheating and wenching
He didn't have a partner and she gave up something real for security. It was but I thought it a little more nuanced than that.
It was sad to me. A brotha and sista who had a chance for love but decided to go back to their soulless romances with their non black partners.
This third episode .... so many parallels.... might be my new favorite show
One time for Lawrence .... Issa you better hold on girl
@Ziggiy I think the Issa reads the coli breh
