Nah, it been lackluster and missing something the entire season. With the exception of Molly and some of her shenanigans trying to fit into the black law firm and Kelly's humor. Issa been doing dumb shyt like jumping in people's pool naked and been looking like a bum the entire time.

They really were building up for this moment.

All of that is true but it's still been mostly dull. Some cool moments, some relatable stuff, but very few standout moments or high points. Past episodes could spark all types of debates and conversations about what was going on but that's been lacking the first half of the season.

There needed to be some life brought back to the show. It didn't have to be Lawrence. It could have come from leaning further into Issa working a new job or expanding the roles of Kelly, Tiffany, and Molly. I'd much rather those characters get developed more than introduce another bland love interest for Issa. But in either event, something needed to happen to give the show some momentum because it was getting stale.
