1) Now that the Yemeni Navy is actively enforcing a blockade on Israeli ships passing through the Red Sea, the only other option for Israeli cargo shipment is westward across the Mediterranean, south through the Atlantic and eastward passing by the Cape of Good Hope.
There are numerous reasons why cargo traffic doesn't often pass the Cape of Good Hope. For one, it's incredibly expensive when the Red Sea is so convenient.
Secondly, the waters in the Cape of Good Hope has long been considered treacherous. It's the exact point where the Atlantic merges with the Indian Ocean, which creates rough and stormy conditions for ships.
For that reason, the Cape of Good Hope is also known as the world's largest ship graveyard.
2) What's more, the new realities that the region is now facing brings a new opportunity for South African comrades to engage in direct action against Israeli ships forced to dock in Cape Town.
Comrades must monitor cargo traffic passing by the Cape and prevent ships from refueling or leaving.
3) The Yemeni Navy's takeover of Israeli cargo vessel "Galaxy Leader" is a big deal.
In 1971, the PFLP attacked Israeli oil tanker "Coral Sea", and then sought refuge in the Yemen Arab Republic (North Yemen).
The attack was so painful to Israel that Golda Meir authorized the use of force against Yemen as a retaliatory measure.
The Israeli bombardment of Yemen never took place, as Yemeni intelligence managed to apprehend the one Mossad agent responsible for pinpointing vital Yemeni military installations.
