Actually, they did not break international law

Also, Human shields is a MASSIVE deal, dude. No other military force has to deal with what Israel has to deal with right now.

Not only is Hamas responsible for 99% of the initial aggression towards Israel, not only do they fire rockets into Israel on a daily basis for the last 20 years, looking to maim and kill any civilian in sight (So Hamas has been breaking international human right laws every day for the last 20 years with very little public outcry) BUT the most recent attack was just a disgusting , monstrous incident of murder, rape, and torture that included babies literally being burned alive and beheaded.

Hamas are genocidal freaks and its not just that they use civilians as shields. Far too many Gazans are happy to play this role because in their religion, the ONLY way to guarantee heaven is to die as a matyr. Death at the hands of the enemy is something to look forward to, and what greater enemy for them than the dreaded Jew. This is a distructive culture.

For the sake of the average Palestinian, Israel has to destroy Hamas and save Palestinians from themselves. And the international community needs to come together and install a temporary government in Gaza for at least the next 2 or 3 generations, till this cycle of hatred is finally broken.

The IDF is ready to arm the most racist and extremist element in the West Bank.

'Criminal Record Can Be Overlooked' | Israel's Army Plans to Recruit Settlers With No IDF Experience to Defend Ultra-orthodox West Bank Settlements

The IDF intends to recruit settlers who have not undergone military service and place them as regional defense militiamen in their area of residence.

The recruits are expected to undergo accelerated basic training for three weeks, after which they will be armed and stationed in the settlements. The program is open to civilians between the ages of 27 to 50, who have not served in the military.

When the interested party asked if a criminal record would prevent his enlistment, the military representative asked if that criminal record was “something like hilltop youth,” referring to the radical, often violent settlers from illegal outposts. He asked not to elaborate. Later, the interested party was told that this depended on the nature of his criminal record. He was also told that he would be able to fill the position in a community that was not his place of residence, but that the army would not provide him with lodging.

Another person who inquired about the program and told the military representative that he had been a hilltop youth, was asked if he had a criminal record. When he answered in the affirmative, he was told that in some cases the army would “overlook it if he was serious. It depends,” and was told to register so that his candidacy could be examined.

Biden shares a lot of blame here though too. His rhetoric has been nothing but harmful to Palestinians. He's spread unverified IDF claims, downplayed Palestinian civilian casualties, and advised against calls for a ceasefire/de-escalation. His state department has also tried to press the Qatari PM to tone down on Al Jazeera's reporting. This administration also ignores the various acts by the IDF which should trigger a Lehay law violation. It's not only about aid.

Rashida Tlaib is my congressional rep. And she's been catching hell from both Republicans and Democrats.

And she's only 1 of like 10 reps that are pro Palestine. The entire government is pro Israel.

Be as critical of Biden for his behavior as you want. But to say he's the cause of any of this or to act as if the response would be different given another party or candidate is delusional. It would probably be far worse.

People want microwave simplistic results but that's not the way the world works.
