In politics no one gets 100% of what they want. Even in South Africa right now the ANC governs but the wealth is still not evenly distributed. Palestinians and the Arab league were given a large chunk of land in the 60s in negotiations but they opted for a full war because they wanted 100% of everything. Hamas is a terrorist organization that is not interested in peace or any settlement. They oppose the very existence of Israel so here we are. The only solution to this crisis is a total wipeout of the terrorist Hamas and then Israel can negotiate with the Palestinians who want peace.
World War 3 is gonna happen but its gonna be the same thing as Call of Duty online going from Team Deathmatch to Battle Royale. Its not gonna be so much US/NATO/JAPAN/ISRAEL VS THE SCO countries in a coordinated alliance vs alliance thing. Its gonna be a bunch of local wars like you said with the overall goal of undermining America, but each actor be it nation state or militant group will get there on their own terms. They wanna checkmate us by overwhelming us with multiple simultaneous crises, and attacking our democracy at home. We're arguably half way there already.
