Some of the views in this thread are worrying :dwillhuh:

:what:

Higher Learning where we have the same values as Attila the Hun and Genghis Khan :blessed:
Those are not necessarily my values...Regardless of my values, my experience has taught me that the best way of eliminating a threat is typically brute indiscriminate force....

This is in alignment with principles of physics...The shortest distance from point a to point b is a straight line...

Also, isn't the whole point of "higher learning" to ask questions and explore alternatives...?

I hate this idea that the U.S and Russia lost in Afghanistan or Vietnam, they weren't trying to win a military campaign but to win the minds of the people. Do we honestly think that if it was an all out war that they couldn't kill every single afghani or Vietnamese person?

ISIS is eventually going to fail due to the same reasons the Nazis failed; they cannot afford to fight both the east and the west at the same time.

They lost...

Uriah Hall a UFC fighter has the talent to DESTROY many of his opponents, but he is afraid to pull the trigger because he doesn't want to damage them...As a result, he lost fights against less talented opponents...He has been criticized for not having that blood lust killer instinct...

What's the point? War has many factors...If you limit yourself because of this or that, that is your choice...."If I could I would I should" is irrelevant after the fact...When you are in it, you do WHATEVER it takes...If not, what was the point of the whole thing? Senseless loss of human life over a BULLSHAT ideology...As usual...But people will keep blaming religion, like wars will stop without religion...

The only way Western Governments stand a chance is to ramp up continuous surveillance of their own citizens...

There is VERY little you can do to stop attacks that just happened in France...

If ten Muslims move to Canada, and live a normal life...Become citizens, buy their guns legally and wait for the right opportunity to attack, there is VERY little the government will do to stop them...

Unless they put EVERY single Muslim under surveillance...That will be the price of the illusion of security...

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
And to think this all started because of Wikileaks.

Wikileaks led in unrest in Syria. which lead to anarchy which led to ISIS.

Dictators are easier to control than rogue extremist organizations which aren't bound by politics, rules or regulations. Just think if the U.S. backed rebels trying to over throw :ehh:.

The U.S. has basically helped destabilized the middle east and because it's thousands of miles across the ocean, we don't have to deal with the consequences.

Bingo.

The US was laying waste to people but couldn't win the PR war
