Nobody looks at Isaiah as the 2nd coming of Nas. Or even Kendrick. He's just a dope artist who makes great music. He's not gonna drop crazy bars but he's gonna drop rhymes that'll stay stuck in your head for days. I've prolly bumped cilvia demo more than I've bumped any Kendrick album. Zay's flows and melodies are what set him apart. Even on this song. I thought it was solid at first...nothing special. Now I can't stop reciting the chorus in my head. shyt is hypnotic. Zay wasn't trying to drop the craziest verse. He was just vibing. Song almost sounds like they freestyled the whole shyt. That's what's dope about it.

Zay's music is like that though. It sneaks up on you. You don't realize how dope it is until you can't stop playing it. When it comes to making great songs, Isaiah is one of the best in the game. I'd even say top 5. I'll take his catalog all day over Conway or Freddie Gibbs. Zay is way more versatile.

I like the single overall. He’s not gonna have a hit…been gone too long and the waves have changed. But this album should have been out. Making an announcement that you’re dropping something, then releasing a video with press (article, interview, etc) with no album date is idiotic. Just the type of dumb shyt TDE does.

Now the rumor is Drake is dropping on the 25th and Rashad is getting pushed back. So in the span of his half assed rollout there will be two huge album drops (Cole and allegedly Drake). Anyone with a brain knew the summer would be busy with releases. Drop your shyt, announce a tour and move on. Waiting only allows you to be upstaged.

Everybody outside of Kendrick is legit worse off as artists than if they were on any properly functioning label. Whatever benefit comes from them(notoriety, producers, etc.) could be matched elsewhere

He’s not on Interscope tho, only Kdot, Jay Rock and Q are. SZA is on RCA. Rashad may have signed to a label for this album but dunno yet.

New rumor is that Tyler is starting his album rollout. So again, another big artist gearing up while Rashad is in limbo for no fukking reason. Given that the label has ties to Interscope via Kdot they likely knew Cole was dropping some time in the spring yet they still rolled out Rashad’s single during Cole’s rollout. It makes no sense. This should have come out the first Friday in June.

SZA has a recorded concert coming out on the 17th btw. So again Rashad is stuck in limbo with multiple artists moving ahead with plans…
