"The two NBA players to amass at least 14 points, six rebounds, five assists and 1.3 blocks this season were Horford and Giannis Antetokounmpo – numbers previously generated by only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Walton, Alex English, Chris Webber, Lamar Odom and, of course, Garnett."

It’s not a coincidence that Avery Bradley, Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder had the best years of their careers,’’ Ainge said. “That is not a coincidence. Al Horford had a lot to do with it.’’ :Danny::celticsmjpls:

During first season, investment in Al Horford has been a valuable one for the Boston Celtics - NBA.com

"Boston needs to figure out a way to contain Wall and at least make him work. Things have been far too easy for him, especially early in games. It would be best to let Bradley check him right from the tip and make him work for everything he gets.

Here’s the compromise: let him shoot long 2s. Wall has been murder in the mid-range in these playoffs (47.2% in the post-season vs. 38.7% in the regular season), but I’d take my chances with him shooting that 15-footer over him turning the corner and getting to the rim. Giving him space for the jump shot allows him to get his and also takes away the rest of his team. It’s a little live-and-die-by-John-Wall-who-is-their-best-player, but it’s the NBA and you can’t take everything away."

Will Celtics have set of John Wall rules in Game 4?

"As much as the 5-foot-9 Thomas plays at a level where size apparently doesn’t matter, this second-round series with Washington is a reminder that the deeper you get into the postseason, size does become a factor for everyone -- Thomas included.

It doesn’t mean he’s not a star in this league. But he's a star with an asterisk because he has a shortcoming to his game -- his height -- that no amount of effort on his part can every fully compensate for.

And it’s obvious that Washington is doing all it can to take advantage of this as much as possible."

Isaiah Thomas is a superstar with an asterisk

"The question for Stevens now, as the matchup shifts back to Boston for Game 5, is whether he can tinker with his schemes and rotations enough over the rest of the series to overcome the talent gap between the two squads. It may be his biggest challenge to date as an NBA head coach, but it is still a problem that can be solved."

Does Brad Stevens have an answer for the Wizards?
