Is Vikings better than Spartacus?

as you said, they lost the actor but not the character…so it’s not really the same…if spartacus continued the show for 2 seasons after the character’s death it’s possible it would’ve become uninteresting…instead of vikings, they should’ve just called the show “ragnar” so it would’ve been easier to bail on the series after season 4 lol

ya S4 you can start to feel the show beginning to crack/fall apart…they shouldn’t have made it 20 eps…I’m up to 13 now but there were a lot of useless/drawn out scenes…ragnar’s sons aside from bjorn seem just fukking weird…idk the progression to the characters they are now didn’t feel natural…maybe the characters will grow on me…we kind of saw bjorn’s upbringing and even tho his character received a major time jump, we still witnessed the trials and tribulations he went thru in adulthood to become the character we see in S4…I like rollo’s progression this season too

I know what’s gonna happen to ragnar by the end of the season as I couldn’t help but look at some spoilers online…I think I’ll probably bail after this season tho…S5 goes back to just 10 eps but S6 is another drawn out 20 ep season smh…outside of ragnar and rollo, I’m not too invested in these characters to want to watch 30 more eps of this…this is what happens when a story is too dependent on one character…the show can’t risk killing off the character after a while

Yep. If you feel S4 dragging, it has nothing on S5/S6. The most long drawn out feelings of watching a show I've ever had. shyt felt like 2 seasons of filler.

I’m checking out prime again to see how long season 5 is and they have it listed weird which is why I didn’t see that it was 20 eps broken into two parts…they have it listed after S6 as S502…I would’ve been pissed if I found that out late

but ya I’m done after ragnar dies…it’s the reason why I never really got into the series the first time I watched S01…it wasn’t a bad show but I got the feeling it was more so cuz of ragnar being a great character more so than the actual story

OT but I’m looking at some of these screen cap previews and I see ivar looking like he’s standing up and fighting in the middle of a battle…does he gain the ability to walk at some point?

It's a combination of Ragnar being a great character and it seems like they just straight ran outta material storywise. The sons are also trash characterwise. Ivar had potential as the "strategy" type character, but they fumbled that. I never really liked older Bjornn that much either. In seasons 5/6, there are maybe like 4/5 scenes/episodes that's worth caring about? A few of which you could probably catch on youtube.

Ivar - Sorta, he commissions someone to make leg braces for him that allows him to like slowly walk a lil bit. That also causes him a lot of pain, so he still deals with crawling and stuff too.

I really wanted to say Vikings was better than Spartacus..........but man those last 2 seasons of Vikings are so horrible, I gotta give it to Spartacus. Them first 4.5ish seasons of Vikings are top tier though.
