What talent?We have the talent to beat the Celtics.
Boston has two #3 picks. Both athletic as fukk and skilled to boot. They have a multiple all star center/PF in Al Horford. A great, young coach. A very promising up and coming PG in Terry Rozier than can create a shot better than anyone not named Wade on our roster. Marcus Morris would be the 2nd leading scorer in our team.

When was the last time this team overachieved? Reaching the semifinals in 2004?We have the talent to beat the Celtics.

Beside the 2004 semifinals, we defeated the Knicks when were down 3-1in the 1997 playoffs. Salute to PJ Brown for stirring up a fight with Charlie Ward that pushed the league to suspend multiple Knicks players. . It wasn't for him the Heat would have gotten eliminated in 5 games.

nikkas stay overestimating this team
Celtics would have washed us worse than the 76ers. We couldn't beat them without Embiid. We got one win because Wade went 06 for a game.
We're exactly what our record says we are. Average and in limbo. Not good enough to compete with any real contenders but not the worst.

I knew that shyt woudlnt fly because they were basing it on the success of unproven players like Winslow and unpredictable headcase like Whiteside.
I cant front i was expecting a big year from Whiteside too.
But then the injuries started mounting from the start so i was on the "wait and see" side of the fence. Bam was a nice surprise during his absence so at least we got that but our defense and (to some degree) rebounding suffered in Hassan's absence.Injuries is part of the game. What can you do?

And then in the summer of 2016 when they were both FA's and Wade had yet to leave I think it was his pops that was saying there was mutual interest with the organization. I remember looking at a young Whiteside and thinking what the hell would they want with soft ass Horford
I couldn't have been any more wrong. Whiteside can't hold his jockstrap, and he would've been the perfect player for what Spo likes to do.

Living in Atlanta, trust me I've seen plenty of Horford ever since he was here with the Joe Johnson and Josh Smith. He's a solid player no doubt. But Hassan had always had more upside IMO. Dont take this as me shytting on Horford. Again, solid player and deserving all-star but not a star. But he's not perfect. You're just seeing him play well for a stretch but there were many times he disappeared for the Hawks. Ask Hawks fans and they'd tell you He's had both memorable (ironically against the big 3 Celtics) and forgettable games in the playoffs
The problem is Whiteside is unstable and immature to some degree while Horford is very professional.
