But its interesting to see how the league functions outside of the AAA

By my estimation he's got 2 more years of mediocrity before his seat gets warm. They're still just two years removed from the doorsteps of the ECF and the Bosh debacle is still fresh in mind.

i gotta feel like as long as he makes the playoffs he is safe.

my guess is it would take a serious fallout between him and the entire team and even still i feel like it would play out more like when d’antoni resigned from the knicks amid the Melo fiasco

but yea i agree his seat might get a few degrees warmer if perpetual mediocrity persists

Sometimes too the team just needs a new voice. He's coached atleast three different incarnations of this team, I get the feeling this next regrouping they do will probably be his last. I don't imagine he wants to coach anywhere else, they'll probably transition him into the front office somewhere. Between him, Zo, and Battier it'll be interesting to see who they turn to as a successor whenever Riley decides to hang it up. I've heard it would have been you know who's job to turn down if he never left.

Potentially a lot of money in play the summer of 2020, good health provided I think he'll see us through till then, between 2020-21 I'd expect the change.

TJ peaked, Olynyk is as good as he'll ever be, not sure how much better Waiters can get but he's still a talented scorer. In terms of most upside I'd go Bam, Winslow, Rich in that order. This is provided Bam is given the chance to really play, he's got a lot of raw talent that we didnt get to see because all he was asked to do is set screens and catch lobs
