Pat hasn’t gotten the draft right in 15 years :snoop:. You always take the mountain of picks if the player you want isn’t LeBron or Shaq or Michael type obvious. Our best draft pick since 2004 has been Mario Chalmers :francis:
Chalmers was not a great pick. I'd say Josh Richardson was probably a better pick than Chalmers but we need 2 more years to confirm that.

I didn’t say he was a great pick. Richardson I forgot was a draft pick. Could’ve sworn he was a free agent. Either way, if those are your two best picks over a 15 year span, you’ve drafted very poorly.

He hand picked this roster with pat
Dont most coaches hand-pick their rosters, tho? Modern-day NBA FOs mainly look for players who best fit their system/culture unless a player is a superstar and they build everything around said player.

Nah, can't do Mario that. He showed more and sooner than Richardson and never buckled under pressure

that's not me saying that Richardson is that great of a pick. I'm just saying that Chalmers was average at best. We got very good use out of him for a late 2nd rounder. My problem with him was always that he has no court division for somebody who supposedly play point guard. I know he was not all real point guard but since she was playing the position I have certain expectations. I was one of those . that Puerto Rican guy should've started over him. I can't recall his name. But since the team has the traffic invested in him you give them the minutes to prove his worth

Cruisin’
Reading Realgm and someone suggested that Riley might trade for Demar and Blake.

Would y’all be mad if Riley traded Winslow; JJ, and KO for Blake? Then proceeded to trade Tyler; J Rich, and Bam for Demar? Maybe move Whiteside to the Wizards for Gortat; Meeks, Jason Smith, and Oubre.

Dragic
Demar/Waiters/Meeks
Mcgruder/Oubre
Blake/?
Gortat/?

Team would be weak in the front court and wouldn’t go further than the second round, but I wouldn’t past this organization to find a decent center in the D-League or FA.
This squad would be a fun 45-50 win team and I could definitely see Riley doing this. :ld:
Meh...

To be fair how many high picks have the Heat under Riley? You can’t really nail the draft, if you don’t have high picks nor 1st rounders in general.
