This is the problem with this board and black people as a whole, we have the data that goes against us and highlights these issues and anecdotally seems true as well if you are around both black and white people but we still find ways to deny this information. Yes we have been affected by racism but how does this data not seem true?? The problems we have collectively as a group point directly to this issue, everything starts with the formation of family but black people continue to deny this or argue this. We have social media discussions that argue about people wanting to have children but not the spouse, what?? That shyt is ass backwards and it shows with how our people as a collective look. This data is definitely accurate, it is way to obvious if you just look around.

This wasn't the case for most of the women in my family. And black women always worked. The SAHM lifestyle wasn't a reality for most of them in any era.

Even if they worked they had jobs that wouldn’t support a household - at least across my family.

Women having parties or fun after divorce is not exclusive to black women, and given all the movies/tv shows/country songs/etc about white women doing this I have no idea how you got to this conclusion beyond just having weird views on black women.

but what i don't get is that with lower incomes, it makes more sense for you to stay married because ppl can barely afford to live on their own...unless they will rely on gov assistance..even gov assistance is hard you trynna take 3 kids to school, etc....but even that is low quality.... What these reports don't talk about are soft skills, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, strategy, etc.

It's easier to deal with those issues in a comfortable house, or when you have enough money to have hobbies that get you away from the home. It's easier to deal with that type of person if you aren't worrying about bills constantly or when you have the freedom to shop it off or go out to a nice dinner. Ppl are no longer putting up with unhappiness and being broke at the same time. MOST BROKE PPL DON'T HAVE ACT RIGHT in relationships. I've seen it myself.
Instability in finances translates to everywhere else, health, relationship, behavior etc... alot of people start to realize this after the honeymoon phase and their marriage crashes and burns.
Only societal force or shame can keep people in those situations together.

I see where you’re coming from bruh… I definitely think there’s a whole lotta ego and lack of interpersonal skills and conflict resolution… these things are rarely mentioned in general but I think they play a huge role…

Millenials are getting married more than previous generations BUT once the economy recovers, I have a strong feeling we will have a divorce epidemic. The black man has damn near been economically shut out and black women take in too much social media, black men ain’t shyt propaganda, and R&B to ever be satisfied. Throw in the fact that they are celebrated for leaving your ass, we have this.

If this is legit, it's not that surprising when you figure that financial problems are the main cause of divorce.

Not getting enough rest while up at night thinking of how you're going to pay for x, y and z will get you in each others' faces.

Those stats are interesting. For decades before the huge increase in the early 2000s, White husband/Black wife had the lowest divorce rates. That's no longer the case.

Yeah, apparently the original study didn't have that much data (it was based on only about 300 wm/bf relationships) the updated study from the image I posted had far more data.
