is there an actor with a resume like Leonardo Dicaprio with no Oscars?

he was great in magnolia..and that's why he got nominated... but other than that and eyes wide shut and JM..his filmography is mainly action films for the past 2 decades.

yet @Roman Brady wants to keep mentioning 2008 as if that was the first time he did one. :what: :camby:

yea he's done serious roles in the past and may have gotten academy and golden globe noms but he didnt win..so that ship seems sailed..especially cuz he seems being more comfortable in the action role at this point in his career. plus when stars get older they seem to venture more towards action for some reason..word to liam neeson and denzel

yet someone like leo who stays in the drama lane it seems more feasible he may still win one in the future.

in rain man his co-star won an oscar. in collaterial jaime foxx was nominated as well, but he won for ray in the best actor category the same year anyways so it didn't matter.

I agree TC does mostly action flicks, but when he does drama films, he is typically pretty good in those as well. TC ain't some kinda one dimensional steven segal-esque action star and what not.

I agree breh. Is it just me or does this face look really odd in the new rope Nation previews?

btw, I forgot to mention jerry mcguire. TC was just as good as cuba in that film IMO.

he was just more so play the straight man to cuba's over-the-top fukkery tho.

btw, when talking about the aviator, the ONLY complaint is that it ended where it did.

but I totally understand why. there's really no good definitive documentation on howard hughes later life, so it would be damn near impossible to continue the film as he went deeper and deeper into his OCD and psychosis.

Damn auto correct

ok yeah!

that shyt looks sick. ghost protocol was dope tho. glad ving rhames is back, but upset that paula patton isn't. maybe there's a quota of the # of black folks who can have prominent roles in these MI films or something.

however we all know TC ain't on that :mjpls:

The only time where I legitimately feel like he shoulda/coulda won was Gilbert's Grape. Other than that he was never better than whomever won over him. Bad timing, really. But him and Pitt still have the goat filmography's of this generation

He shoulda won for Gilbert Grape, other than that his roles have been too safe.
I ain't got a hardon for him like a lot of ppl here but his performance in aviator was the kind that defines careers. Don't know if that was even close to Howard Hughes but it was just an all round stellar character performance

He definitely did his thang in Aviator, J Edgar, and Django. Even in Whats eating Gilbert Grape.
He did his thing, but I think Gilbert Grape is the only one that you can make a "snubbed" argument for.
I feel like he was snubbed out of a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Django
My breh @MartyMcFly touched on this, but Waltz was the no brainer as far as who the studio would want to put up for nomination. He's already won an Oscar and his performance in Django, in my opionion, was superior to Leo's (who did a great job)

Edit:
His best performance (I haven't seen The Aviator) is Revolutionary Road. Don't know who won the Oscar that year, tho
