Well with leo he is always kinda leo, maybe its his voice. he does a good job no doubt...even as j edgar w. all the make up u can hear and see leo through and through.

I disagree. The times he was nominated those performances were better than his but that's no diss to what he did. I love him in the aviator but Jamie was just incredible. Same with forest in the last king of Scotland. And even if he did get nominated the year Sean won for milk he wasn't going to win. I feel like most of the times you're nominated you deserve it but sometimes someone else is going to edge you out.

That's exactly what it is. When you talk about Oscar winners, you have to take it year by year. You can't focus on a career in its entirety, because then you'll think someone got robbed when there were better performances. It's like Kobe only winning 1 MVP. You could say it's crazy for him to only have one, but in nearly every other year he was a real candidate, there were more worthy players. Leo hasn't been straight up robbed like Eddie Murphy, Daniel Day Lewis(Gangs), Denzel (Malcolm X).

I do think he should've been nominated for The Departed instead of Blood Diamonds though. I think he would've had a better shot to win that year.

Yeah that Kobe thing hits a sore spot but I feel you. It doesn't mean your work isn't worthy, some years there's just someone better even if it's better by a little. He hasn't been robbed any year he's been nominated though like the dudes you mentioned although Alan Alda was dope in Little Miss Sunshine so it's not like Eddie got picked over chopped liver. He hasn't had a role like Denzel in Malcolm X where he definitely should've won. Pacino got it for Scent of a Woman that year and it's a good performance but not what Denzel did in Malcolm X and that was a makeup oscar for Pacino

He should've won for Django, I'm not sure why the studio pushed for Christoph Waltz, since he already got one for Inglorious Basterds.

Leo's not even 40 yet, so his time will come. Last year, it was either Ejiofor or McConaughey's Oscar, didn't even think he had a chance to win anyway.

And I'd agree if he was getting snubbed. The years he's been nominated, there's been someone who maybe just a tad better. There's no shame in Jamie getting his for Ray or Forest for Last King or Matthew for Dallas Buyers Club. It's not like he lost to terrible performances, then you could say it's a snub

I don't think homie is overrated at all, love him as an actor and think he's great. I just think he's been nominated at bad times and that says nothing about his skill or lack thereof, sometimes it's just not your year, doesn't mean you're not great

agree on django as well. but like others have said even though Leo killed it on The Aviator and whatnot the actors who won that year still had the best performances with last years being the closest.
