lol you make it sound as if i'm suggesting that a hurricane or tornado be the main threat in the movie.

of course i don't wanna see a superman movie where the climactic action finale involves him saving a kitten from a tree.

these are just everyday things for superman. saving a small country from certain disaster is just tuesday for him. that is what superman is about. these things needs to be shown.

I'd rather see him arrest some punks, yoke up a white collar criminal, help the justice system out, or maybe even scolding a politician here or there. Meh that doesn't interest me breh. Maybe that's me, but I'm not trying to see Superman save me from acts of God (I'm religious so that may or may not jibe with your views). I prefer to see him save me from bad people, bad men or women with bad intentions. Superman stopping floods and spinning the world back on its axis to reverse time doesn't do a damn thing for me. I like to see him tested because he is the best of us, and I like to see that dichotomy of him being against guys like Lex who have no love for humanity despite how much they think they do. Him stopping a hurricane makes me yawn breh

No not true. As I said, I don't completely agree with how they made Man of Steel and I have issues with it, but there are ways to show it without resulting to something already done. I pointed out ways I'd prefer to see it done: testify in court, help the cops arrest people, scold politicians, help a family in need of shelter or food, help a kid on his way to school, hell have him carry a broken down school bus on his back on his way to the bugle in order to make sure the kids get to school on time and safely. That stuff works for me personally

i think a big reason why cap 2 clicked with a lot of people was because they pit cap up against a very real problem. after watching that movie our country could actually use a captain america right now. we need a captain america.

once again i am not saying they should make an entire superman movie about him saving people from impending disaster, but before you start worrying about which bad guy superman punches in the face this year i say first you have to make the audience understand why we need this guy in the first place. and believe me it isn't just to protect us from alien overlords.

Word. You can't avoid the destruction from a hurricane. You can't avoid the destruction of a tsunami. What you can avoid is people taking advantage of other people. What you can avoid are people being broke and homeless and kids being in destitute. What you can avoid is a group of powerful people taking advantage of people with less power and ensuring that a system constantly works to help them out without thinking of the little people that get stepped on. THAT is how you show superman's humanity, by having him care for that type of shyt while also handling the larger issues that he has to deal with. It's why Lex is the perfect villain for him

And again, this is a personal statement breh: I know I that we cannot avoid a tsunami or a hurricane or a tornado; that is going to happen, no matter what we do or don't do. But there are ills in our society that are avoidable and in a country where the gap between rich and poor continues to widen, where banks continue to make money hand over fists, and we hold none of our elected officials accountable for a damn thing, it would be nice to see a superman movie where he handles the problems of the common man along with the bigger issues and those are the common man issues that speak to ME. I don't give a flying fukk about superman stopping a hurricane or reversing time because Lois died and he's mad. That shyt bores the hell out of me. I've seen it in the old movies and I've seen it on Lois and Clark (which I love) so I don't need or want to see it anymore. If you want to explain why the world needs him, and this is an issue both superman returns and man of steel have struggled with, then show him helping out the homeless and the poor and the tired masses. show him just doing good but good that we can all aspire to do. I can't aspire to stop a hurricane but I can aspire to give a dollar to the guy I see every morning outside my job with a cup in his hand

I'm just saying that the sensibility may not mesh with our sensibility of today man that's all. If you're not careful with that character, he can become very very anachronistic so there's a fine line to toe in how you do that. Whether right or wrong, that's just the reality of the situation and you have to be very careful in how you show him being hopeful and inspiring people and the good he does. You can either bombard people too much and they tune out or they just stop paying attention because it feels too hokey.

The difference is that Cap is Super Solider but is still vulnerable to a lot of things that's why people can relate plus the same can be said for Bats. Bats is a normal dude who is tired of corruption and crime in his city so he uses his resources to stop it, we can all relate to that. Superman is basically a God who can only be stopped by Kryptonite and can pretty much do anything he wants. If he wanted he could throw the Earth into the Sun then fly to another Planet. The problem is that his character has too much power
