It feels like the average user on this site is 36 years old. I've never seen a forum where people were so apprehensive and insecure towards anything that was outside of their echo chamber. Anything that's new and popping in music is not even discussed. Some of the worst and most proudly uniformed musical takes I have ever read in my life are on this site. And for a userbase that pretends to know so much more about music outside of rap and RNB, the lounge is one of the deadest sub forums on the site with threads from months ago on its front page. Has no awareness of any music of culture outside of hip-hop or R&B. Which is insane. Lots of dusty old heads on this forum that pride themselves on not using social media. If you're under the age of 30..just don't even bother. It's not like you can even register for the forum anyways and the attitude of the userbase shows they are hostile towards newcomers. The dumbest topics are discussed meanwhile anything of any value barely goes two pages. The hip-hop forum is still discussing artists and music from 10,15, 20, 25, 30 years ago. Anything that is not wrapped up in this fake militant schtick from insecure posters too scared to go outside of their comfort zones is immediately regarded as "white people stuff". Which is really insulting to many Black people who enjoy those things. The user base of this forum is just waaaaaaaaay too old on average to be so ignorant. Has a shocking disrespect towards art and artists, which would most definitely turn away many talented Black artists from even wanting to promote their art there. This place used to be kind of cool for some opinions outside of the norm but now it's not even good for that because it's just gotten so redundant and the conversation has became so circular it's not even worth logging in anymore.

A dusty forum that's aging out of relevancy
