If no one cared about other DC characters, WW, Aquaman, and Shazam wouldn’t have gotten sequels. :mjlol:

Im sure the X-Men will help bring back the MCU, but that isn’t happening until at least the late 2020s.

And convo is happening because CBM haven’t had much success since Endgame, that was years ago. :dead:
Even this is a fukking lie because Dr. Strange grossed 950 milli last year.

LMFAO. Holy shyt u about the worse troll on here. U gotta be trolling. The whole point of the thread is u asking a fukking question (its in the thread title in case u that slow) and then proceed to list the movies that flopped. U asked a question, i answered. U truly are a fukking retard

:snoop:

@Bryan Danielson , is this how all DC stans act? :dahell:

Box office numbers and being tired of CBM are different discussions, idiot. Did I ask “why are comic book movies flopping?” No.

And calling me a DC Stan even though I’m not even leaning on them shows that you’re definitely an MCU stan. :heh:

Fact is there hasn’t been a very successful and much talked about CBM since The Batman, which didn’t even have the Joker as a focal point, something you seem to think is the only reason why Batman does well. :mjlol:
yea u truly are a retard who moves goal posts when the answer doesnt fit the agenda :pachaha:

Bu bu but i didnt ask a question :dead:

It was a mistake. Sorry I don’t keep up with nerd stats like you.
So u start a thread , ask a question (then deny u ask it) and dont even know that the answer that i gave u is 100% true? :dead:

then u take offense to my correct answer because u want the rest of the world to be a depress weirdo and be comic book fatigued with you? :dead:

i cant.....

Thread is about CBM fatigue. Majority of the films from both companies didn’t do well, which shows People are tired of what’s being put out. I never asked why they flopped, so how can I deny something I never asked? Nor did I deny the post about MoM doing well. I even handed you a dap for that post. :what:

You’re the one in your feelings after I called you out about DC characters getting sequels, then started with the name calling. Now here we are. :mjlol:

If you're just a regular person not a CBG, Marvel has been

1) Trying to repeat Guardians of the Galaxy success with other d list characters.

2) Trying to get people to subscribe to Disney Plus with (now) A list characters in paint by numbers TV shows

3) Messing up their movies by forcing casuals to watch the TV Shows to understand the movies.

4) Replacing the Avengers with much cheaper and younger actors and directors.

5) Fixing boring movies with boring CGI fights at the end.

That said, they had a good number of bad movies prior to End Game.

The second two Iron Man movies, both Ant Man, both Thor, The Hulk movie doesn't count apparently.

Real talk, Captain Marvel made a billion based on tie in and first female movie but Brie Larson is no Gal Gadot and Sam Jackson singing is the best part of that movie.

And Black Panther 2 made 800M. We would have supported Michael B Jordan as the new Black Panther. He would have probably been the best choice even if narratively difficult. Shuri, both the character and the actor was just never gonna work.

Keeping these bad movies in mind, it was inevitable that bad movies would reappear again. It's just been accompanied by mediocre TV shows, which makes it worse.

For them to fix it, they probably need to chill. Same with Star Wars and Pixar. Like nothing for a few years. Zero. No series, no movies. Scrap all the plans. Better to give everyone a check and not spend the advertising budget.

This thread took a turn real quick :what: But anyway I don't think it's "over" until I see Spider-Man or Batman flop. They should always print.

Next year Deadpool 3 coming out. I'd be surprised if that flopped. I think Joker 2 is coming out too.

The days of random ass heroes doin numbers are probably done because MCU fell off and made a bunch of bad movies and TV shows.

The core group of fans have aged out, the 10 year olds in 2012 who were hyped to see it got Avengers Endgame and have gone on to live their (20 something year old) social lives and don't want to hit up the movies for an inferior product...

Millenials are parents now and don't have the funds to go or they can wait for D+ to stream...

Boomers/GenX have seen this cycle before in the 80s/90s and apathetic to CBMs as they grew up in the golden age of comics and really read the stories in the 60s/70s and have been pretty disappointed with what they've seen, so they just sit it out...

Young kids don't care, they will just stream it or play Fortnite...

No one cares about DC movies except joker related batman's. Captain Marvel is nothing special so its a flop.from the go

People only care abuot Avenvers characters and x men shyt. Those will always eat. Since none of these were released this year, this is why this thread and covo is taking place today. Good day sir
No one wanted the marvels
Aquaman doing numbers wasn’t indicative of aquaman it was riding the wave of comic book movie success started by marvel
Outside of Batman and the joker and the JL as a group, DC characters aren’t and have never been interesting.
But more importantly the movie going audience has moved on post Covid. As someone who used to go see every movie I could, I don’t even care to go to a theater anymore. Movies in general just aren’t as good as tv shows, and it’s not worth it to go see a movie that is an obvious cash grab or some panderbear bs.
Covid and streaming tag teamed and killed the movies. And marvel pushing the MSHEU did not help. If the quality of comic book movies increased back to peak MCU days the numbers will go back up

Spidey and Bat are guaranteed money, so they’ll never flop. Joker will likely do well since he’s another big name. DP3 has the Wolverine stimulus, so it won’t do bad.
