Live your own life
I gave him credit for his hustle. Some blacks are willing to pay him a $100.00 to listen to him lecture about white supremacy for two hours. That's how public speakers and social commentators make their money. Consciousness isn't for free.

:snoop:

if everyone worked together there would be no poverty. We would have a self sustaining community with nuff food, nuff schools, nuff medical supplies, nuff guns, etc.

Do you not realize that a capitalist mindset is what creates poverty?:dwillhuh: as long as we try to capitalize off of one another someone will always get the shyt end of the stick. When we work together to build each other up everyone eats.

Funds are not the problem. The mindset is.

how do you change the mindset while existing in poverty? with everyone fighting for limited resources to survive, why wouldn't one try to capitalize off another? other groups are vacuuming money out of black neighborhoods and bolstering their own patriarchies. black people can do the same if we ditch our current concept of money and how it should be utilized.

We're going to have think tanks and solution discussions forever because a lot of people simply don't want to do what's required to improve themselves.

The 'real' solutions are boring, so nobody really wants to hear that. Work hard, take care of your family, become extremely educated, have morals, start businesses or obtain a high paying job, etc. It's pretty much the stuff that your parents have been telling you since you were younger. Going on a circuit talking about that won't sell because it's boring and it requires a lot of time. Talking about discipline, self-sacrifice, etc. puts people to sleep. It's much more profitable to get people riled up emotionally. We can be mad at white folks all we want, but if that's the root of your mentality, 10 years from now, you're still going to be mad and in the exact same position. If you had decent parents, do what they told you and that'll be a large part of the solution.

i don't hate Tariq.

i know nothing about him.

i feel like anyone who sits around and tries to make money flapping their gums is a fukking con artist and should be ignored. Flapping your gums does nothing to improve quality of life in the black community. Yea its good to brainstorm ideas, but to try and get paid off of that? Why? i don't need to pay any motivational speakers brody.

i know what i need to do to improve my quality of life. i know what i need to do to help those in my community improve their quality of life. Watching nikkas getting rich and famous talking shyt is not part of the game plan.

Well said....

how do we stop the rape? our problem isn't just police brutality and poverty.

These fakkits have been raping us for years and nikkas here are talking about money, GTFOH, we already have that shyt.

We're giving the shyt out for peanuts and getting nothing in return.

black people do not have the money, that's a lie.

it's not that its boring, it's that it requires a lot of sacrifice. individually, it's easier to get yours and get out of the ghetto.

@Poitier @marcuz @FilliBuster

I think the solution to black issues is simply controlling/owning production.

Production of the things that we need to survive (education, agriculture, raw materials for construction ect.)
We also need to control means of production to all ancillary resources (@bdizzle said that there is a material mined in Africa that is used to make all smart phones.) There is no reason why these materials all come from Africa and African's don't own/control means of producing those materials.

I think that one change (albeit, major change) will completely turn things.

To begin to implement that change we need to start with controlling our education. Educate young Africans (continental Africans and Africans across the diaspora) about how to produce materials and how to make turn that into a business and tings will progress from there.

Black people will never be able to beat white people at their own game. As long as we're trying to compete with them financially we're failing.

You know why the black community is so far behind? Because we're so divided.

Communism works in business, therefore it will work the same way in life. All it takes is for everyone to stand up as one.

The moment everyone unites and changes their mindset is the moment that poverty ceases to be a problem in the black community.

You're doing exactly what the system wants you to do.

i agree. And thats what i'm saying. If we all come together we can build self sustaining communities.

As along as we're focusing on capitalizing its impossible to build said communities. Capitalism is the root of all evil. It is what divides people. And people cannot get ahead while we continue to be divided.

Blacks are at the bottom of the food chain because we're the most divided. Because we're the most materialistic. Because every black person wants to come up and stunt, instead of joining hands and building.

but black people arent trying to compete with whites financially. hell, black men are barely competing with black women financially.

there will never come this perfect kumbaya moment of unification that you're pining for, its a pipe dream.
