JUST TRYNA FIGURE SOME THINGS OUT RIGHT QUICK

GIVE ME YOUR TOP 10 ALL TIME HOMIE

My top 10 is too flexible to be taken serious. I have players moving up and down and coming in and out all the time:snoop:

Currently it looks like this:

1. Jordan
2. LeBron
3. Magic
4. Kareem
5. Shaq
6. Bird
7. Duncan
8. Kobe
9. Wilt
10. Russell

This is my list, I'm not saying anyone else's list is wrong. I value impact, hardware, strength of opponents, and yes, the eye test, although that is further down the scale.

Kobe and Duncan are practically identical to me, so they switch all the time. They are both below Shaq, because Shaq was clearly the better player when he played with Kobe, although there were a few years they were neck and neck. Shaq was just too dominant.

Magic over Kareem because Magic fed Kareem. A lot of people don't remember, but Magic was as good as Jordan in the 80s.

Russell below Wilt because Wilt was clearly the better player. Russ had the better team. Wilt reminds me of LeBron in that he's a freak athlete always in bad situations.

LeBron is second to Michael because Mike has 6 FMVPs. Once LeBron reaches that goal, if he ever does, they'll be 1a/1b.

looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

yea, and how many of those threes were the rockets making?

run and gun has been a thing since the introduction of the 3-point line. Don Nelson, UNLV, etc. all did that strategy.

Steph was the first person to make it work. That's the difference.

You have to be blinded by hate to think that Steph isn't the reason people shoot more threes now.

The rockets, for example, shot a lot of threes - but they weren't making them. We all saw them miss 27 three pointers in a row, or are you too casual to remember that WCF

You're the one that's bringing up casual ass arguments if you're trying to equate the two strategies just because they had high volume of three point attempts.

The warriors revolved around passing and open-floor schemes, which resulted in made 3 pointers by ungodly shooting by Steph/Klay.
The rockets shot a lot of threes because Harden was flopping like a soccer player and fishing for fouls.
Two completely different strategies, and the Warriors' with Kerr's bulls-inspired offense are clearly the team that's influenced the league, and beyond with even highschool kids trying to shoot like that.

Meanwhile, nobody's trying to replicate Harden's flopping bs :mjlol: man's a shell of his former self now that the league stopped calling those bs fouls and he's withering away in obscurity in the East.

but keep telling yourself the warriors didnt change the game just because the 1990 Nuggets shot a lot of 3's too

"Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf is just as influential as Steph Curry :jawalrus: "
:mjlol:

This post makes no sense. Teams have copied the Rockets offense (a primary ballhandler up top running pick-and-roll with three shooters spaced out) far more than they've copied the Warriors' distributed passing and off-ball motions. It's legit embarrassing to claim that the Rockets' offense is "Harden flopping", Harden's flopping is his move, not the offense. That's like claiming the Warriors offense is Steph's crossover or the Bucks' offense is Giannis's eurostep.

And why are you talking about the 2018 Rockets as if that has anything to do with it? The movement started WAY before 2018. As I already pointed out, increases in three-pointers began in 2012 to 2013 and increases in 3pt-shooting were relatively even after that. How could they have been copying Curry when Curry only shot 4.7 threes/game in 2012? Curry didn't start spamming threes until his 4th season, he was a beneficiary of the movement, not the originator. Rockets were already putting up almost 30 threes/game back when the Warriors weren't even putting up 20 threes/game yet.

Steph does things no one else could do. They didn't copy that. They copied the Rockets because the Rockets were doing shyt everyone can do. You claim the Rockets missed a lot of shots, but when they started spamming threes in 2013 they immediately went from 14th in TS% in 2012 to 4th in TS% in 2013. They finished top-10 in TS% every single year from 2013 to 2019, including 3rd in 2014 and 2019 and 2nd in 2017 and 2018.

That's the whole reason the league followed the wave. You claim they were just missing a bunch of shots....yet in reality they were finishing top-3 in TS% most years. Not that the league was directly copying Houston, but they were following their analytics, and the analytics told them to take more threes and play more like Houston's offense.

Oh, how did Golden State do in TS%? Just 10th in 2013. Just 10th again in 2014. Their offense took off in 2015 but by then they were following the wave, they weren't leading it. The league movement towards taking far more threes had already started 2 years earlier and the Warriors' success didn't change the trajectory at all.

CHICAGO
Yeah, that would be a bald-faced lie.

@CHICAGO is one of the mods here and he hates me because I've exposed him over and over again. So after the WOAT nominations he put me in the final 3 even though I wasn't one of the top 3 most-nominated people, in fact I was nominated by just 6 or 7 Bron haters. @Sccit himself got nominated more than I did but @CHICAGO kept him and several other guys out of the final vote because he was trying to get back at me.

The moment he did that, at least 20-25 posters including other mods said that it was a complete joke that I was being put up in the WOAT vote and hardly anyone was going to vote for me. But @CHICAGO refused to back down and claimed he had made some complex calculation that made me top-3 (which was full of shyt, I wasn't top 3 no matter what way you counted it). So the final vote only had 3 people in it and I was dead last by a MILE.

2019 WOAT Poster Election Thread (Congratulations to Darealtwo1)

Darealtwo1 - 143 votes
Gil Scot-Heroin - 120 votes
Rhakim - 15 votes

Just 15 votes out of 278 cast. 5% of the vote. A few butthurt Bron haters like @Sccit and that was it. I was over 100 votes away from being #2 in WOAT voting, and I was only 3rd because @CHICAGO got his feelings hurt. If he had put 4 guys on the ballot I would have been 4th, if he put 5 on I would have been 5th, I was going to be a distant last in that voting no matter what.

Now you know what kind of poster @Sccit is and how much you can trust what he has to say.

DONT LIE ON ME YOU
fukkING fakkit.

I ADDED UP ALL THE POSTS
AND THE NUMBER DAPS ON THE POSTS THAT NOMINATED YALL.

YOU WERE IN THE TOP 3.

They were playing the no-CP3 Rockets (with 37yo Terry starting next to Harden), Blazers, and no-Kawhi Spurs in those three series though. :dead:

And Kawhi was completely outplaying Steph for that first half until he got hurt. :mjcry:

Steph has been outshone in every single big series, literally every one, unless he was facing some pretender non-contender that no one expected to do anything.

Uncertain grounds
I think i’ll credit Lebron coming into the league at 18 and dominating for a good 15 of the 20 years he’s been a part of it

Everyone knew what time it was when he won ROY over Melo.

He lived up to expectations but as far as legacy goes and Steph supposedly being unable to surpass him then you have to factor in the media and promotional campaigns for that. If Steph won 6 or 7 rings and wasnt ranked higher than LeBron then?

You can’t have the “media” factor UNLESS you live up to expectations. The media would have long ago chewed him up and spit him out if he wasn’t performing like an all time great night in and night out, year after year. For there to be any type of narrative Lebron had to write the story first.

Steph ain’t getting 6 or 7 rings which is why he’ll never surpass Bron’s legacy. He’ll never get 4 NBA Finals MVP’s. He’ll never get 4 regular season MVP’s. And for “narrative” purposes he’ll never come from back from a 3-1 deficit to beat Lebron.

These are just a FEW of the things Lebron has accomplished to aid the media narrative surrounding him. He earned all of it
