That's what I was referring to

And no Bron still greater.

Now if Steph gets a 5th……
But nobody was referring to it except for you
And if Steph gets a 5th, are you going to say he's a Top 3 player or all-time or is this more agendas disguised as neutrality?

I am kinda with you on the Durant thing, I guess my hang-up currently is:

•Durant was and has been a great player for longer than Steph, and was viewed for several years as the second best player next to LeBron right up until Chef's '16. Even then there was no solid majority willing to put the wunderkind Steph who blew up into an All-Timer outta nowhere in like a 2-year span over Durant who had been an elite player for well over a half-decade...

So the fact that Durant was elite for longer carries some weight to me;

•either way its sliced, once Durant went to GS they had the second and third best players in basketball on the roster. Regardless of who one wants as #2, but i do know the consensus of the time, of that 2016-19 period they were together, was that not only was Durant the Dubs best player but he was arguably the best player in basketball period...

Nobody was having "best player alive" conversations about Chef after Durant came. And you know I'm far from a Durant homer but I do feel a way about rewriting that window in time contrary to what the popular opinion was in real time...

It was always recognized that Chef was the focal point of the defense, and overall the engine that made that Warriors machine so hot...

What i will say is that compared to many other greats, if not most, including Steph if their careers continue playing out in this fashion, KD is not the same caliber of #1 that other guys were and its going to justifiably hurt him when cats talk about his historical standing. Including comparing him to Steph; while I think the 3 years they were together KD was the best player, the totality of their careers while they weren't together favors Steph pretty clearly and could end up doing so demonstrably....he's almost certain, unless Durant goes on an unlikely late-career run of dominance, to finish his career sufficiently and comfortably ahead of KD...

Badly!
Nah. I remember even during 2017, at least in my social circle, it was "who is better, Curry or LeBron?".

I wasn't super active on the Coli back then so I can't say what it was like here. But for some reason, I never remember KD being viewed as the undisputed 2nd best player behind LeBron like that, especially after 2015, let alone 2016. Even during the KD GSW years, a lot of people still viewed it as Curry's team.

It was only during the 2019 finals onwards that I started hearing people say it was KD's team.

nikkas talk out both sides of their neck with the Durant on the Warriors and LeBron situation.

On one hand folks will say Durant made the Warriors unbeatable when healthy but on the other won’t reconcile that LeBron then has two finals losses to a proclaimed “unbeatable” team.

Curry doesn't have the resume to be compared to Bron in terms of career all-time. Reached his prime too late, too many injuries.

Plus his peak was clearly not at Top 5 OAT level as seen by his disappearing acts in the Finals at various points.

Bron on the other hand is universally accepted as the second best player ever. Curry won't ever be considered that.
In what universe?

4 chips is huge. And 2 without a superteam, 2 without Durant is huge.

Considering how often LeBron switched teams (I don't blame him for leaving Cleveland the first time, but the last two moves + getting AD and Westbrook weren't a good look), it'll look better for Curry being able to win with a team like this.

Klay looks washed (although I'd reckon we've overrated him in general), Draymond's offensive game is getting exposed, and Wiggins is Wiggins. Poole is awesome, but this team isn't stacked.

Add the showmanship, and the fact that the Warriors are gonna be back in the finals again, I think we underestimate how many people in real life will argue this was Curry's era, low key.
For the love of god, bring reps back

Curry is gonna have a similar rep to Kobe if he gets one or two more. Naysayers are gonna say 3-1, KD/Shaq, Finals MVPs, whatever.

The biggest Curry stans and Warriors supporters will have him on untouchable status no matter what anybody else says and they'll push back on everything.

I wasn't on here like that either until early 2019, so my perception is also based on who I was around. It's all good though, bruh

It's because Bron was Team hopping WAAAAY too much.

People wanna say they'll never put Steph in top 3 discussions, which is fair. But what if they start taking LeBron OUT of top 3 discussions because of Steph Success...

Regardless, this Rivalry is the new age Magic-Bird with both sides saying their guy is better
This post is delusional at best.

so if he lost in the ECF or second round 5 more times would that have made you happier. you cant have it both ways
arguing finals record is a poor argument if you toss away context. mj lost to the future champions in the pistons a few times. the celtics etc. thats a poor argument. every year without a ring should be a failure right? being penalized for making the finals and losing to a better team is corny. there is only one egregious stain on lebrons record and that was against the mavs.
mj is still my goat anyway. bron is 2

You cant be the GOAT with a losing finals record. And you not about to write a dissertation and make people accept him as one.

I been saying this. That's the 1 sports conspiracy I will ALWAYS believe because it didn't make sense.

So that finals was the one where lebron got nervous and not 07?

So that finals Dallas somehow schemed to take lebron out of heat gameplan?

So that series wade out plays Bron and all of a sudden Bosh is the 2nd option now?

If wade won that 1st FMVP in Miami, which is HIS city, that ruins Lebron's legacy "PLAN"

my bad for the thread derail

I agree. I always thought he checked out once he realized he wouldn’t win it. Wade did too which is why he decided to clearly define who was #1 the following year to avoid the dumb sh*t.

You all have this weird obsession with bringing up Bron’s Final record as if it’s better to lose in earlier rounds
Dude has made it to the finals 10 times and has 4 finals MVPs but you all still try to give certain players the edge over him.

I’d bet you never made this argument before 2011.
