If I didn't seek knowledge and education outside of what was forced on me in school, my interests would be a lot different and I would probably be a person that I don't like.

Reading and learning about things you're genuinely interested in rules.

I could usually tell the difference from a person who only has read stuff they were forced to learn, vs someone who reads because they like to.

Absolutely.

Yet on the flip side, if you aren't a critical thinker & lack the ability to dissect the information you absorb, it's rendered useless.

Like what? And what are you reading? I'm asking this because the novels that I listed, I dunno they seem to be more philosophical, even my book that is full of letters from Castro while he was in prison is quite philosophical then of course The Prince, and Nietzsche novels. I'm wondering what that says about me? What do your books say about you? And what do they give you?
