But....Are people really trying to say LJ was a better athlete?

I think of JR Rider when I see Zion.
Zion has the first step of an elite PG or F/SF. That is what is going to make him a match up nightmare. Simply put, no one will be able to guard him unless they are elite (Prime LeBron, Kawhi, PG13) themselves if he pans out.

in terms of pure athleticism, zion is on another level.
only thing LJ has over him is strength.
zion will be lucky if he turns out to be half the dog that LJ was tho.

Zion is an explosive athlete in the mold of Derrick Rose, Westbrook & LeBron.
#2 his defensive instincts are impressive
#3 he has great lateral quickness for a guy his size (better than LeBron)
#4 he has a handle & is actually a nice passer
His floor is 18-9-2-1-1
His ceiling is 27-12-5-2-2

I dont think LJ is an accurate comparison because of the weight difference...truth is Zion is just different theres not been a prototype for what he does before..
Hes 6-7 285 lbs with a 40 inch vertical that hasnt been seen before,thats the intriguing thing about him.

Runnin Reb LJ? Why not? The comparison isn't far off. That may be his ceiling. He's definitely not Chuck. If he puts on weight, he may end up as fresh-out-of rehab Kemp. But Zion is a piss poor rebounder for such athleticism, and Larry had that second jump which allowed him to be a better offensive rebounder. Zion will probably be a less effective Julius Randle.
Most of the kids y'all hyping up aren't panning out.
