It feels like too many people in power want to ignore the more likely scenario because they area afraid of the "what if". Most people looked at Zion in college and said "A person that size shouldnt be able to jump and do the things he can on the court", and "he may need to shed some weight to lower the impact on his lower body".

People thought and said those things but the problem was, if you are an NBA GM and you dont select Zion then you are gonna get killed in the short term no matter what, and if he turns out to be a great player you will never get another NBA job. If you do draft him and his health fails him, you can always just blame Zion and nobody will fault you. Nobody is going to take the next step and ask "Well if you know there was a high chance of Zion having health issues and being unable to fulfill expectations why didnt you select Ja Morant instead.

Sabotaging your health for 6 years is not going to help your longevity to play in New York well.

Let's say he gets to the Knicks. He's been woefully out of shape and injured since he's 19. Thibbs is notoriously tough to play for and he demands conditioning, defense and his stars heavy minutes.

How the fukk is this going to work with him?

He will be a year older, more injury-prone, more out of shape because he's been injured and is going to get his ass kicked the first time he actually steps on the court with this coach.

He's not exactly a gym rat for conditioning either.
He lost weight this year and he still got hurt

His body and the way he plays may not be conducive for basketball

He plays with mad explosiveness

You right but I'm not sure if he would be as bad with that shyt here..

He wanted by in NY he never wanted to be in New Orleans.

If he was a professional it shouldn't be that bad in NO or any other city. The guy isn't a professional and his habits will follow him wherever he goes. There's just as many whores in NY and the food scene is world class.

LETS STOP SAYING "HE LOST WEIGHT"

1. THAT nikka BE LOSING WATER WEIGHT
TO BEAT THE SCALE...

2. HE DOESNT LOSE ENOUGH SIGNIFICANT WEIGHT FOR A PLAYER HIS HEIGHT.

SAYING HE WENT FROM 300
TO 285 AS A 6'6 BASKETBALL PLAYER
IS HILARIOUS.

DUDE SHOULDNT BE ABOVE 255.

Zion is not B. Roy or Oden. His health issues are directly related to the way he takes care of himself...or rather doesnt. There is no way you dont take a chance on that unless he has some congenital condition or Bron or Shaq is available. Just so happens he doesnt have the mental approach necessary. He love food and hoes. They have each claimed more careers than Achilles tendons. And Ja ass damn near got himself banned from the league with another career killer (guns/street shyt) so that eliminates those questions.

285 WAS A STUPID NUMBER FOR

IT MAKES NO SENSE FOR
THIS FAT nikka TO BE WALKING AROUND
AT THAT WEIGHT WHEN JOKIC IS 284
AND EMBIID IS 280 AS 7 FOOT CENTERS...

THE PF POSITION IS FULL
OF SF PLAYING THE 4.

DUDE WOULD BE AT HIS MOST
ATHLETIC PEAK AND STILL BE THE BIGGEST PF
IN THE LEAGUE AT 255.

This is doubly true in a sport like basketball where a talented player can turn a bad team to a contender overnight.
