Is Paolo Banchero good enough to dig the Magic out the grave?

no which is why I wanted him to go on the rockets

That magic team is a bunch of bums and truthfully Orlando is a shytty basketball city. They dont care about basketball like that so there’s no pressure to win. Him and Jalen would have been a nasty duo even though I’m not that high on him but as a #2 he would have been legit
Orlando is a terrible basketball city. It’s a travesty that Baltimore doesn’t have a team. Bmore would embrace an NBA team so hard!

Insane player. Like I said in this thread as a player in a vacuum defense is going to be the biggest question mark: too small to check the elite bigger players and but too slow to check the elite faster ones? I don't have too many concerns here after watching him in preseason, but it still is a question mark until he plays the elite.

Offensively everything checks out. In a vacuum dude is a special player. Prototype jumbo playmaker who can score on three levels. Had a question about the scheme/support and if the team can maximize his potential but with the Wagner chemistry I think they are really close to it. I like the fact dude doesn't have to 100% carry because the Magic have good players, although I think dude definitely can be the league's premier offensive hub one day like Jokic is.

Next step is the Magic need shooters. If they get that, Magic are probably my favorite team out East (especially if Suggs can grow to be a Jrue Holiday-type defensively).

Got to watch some of their game last night…always knew he could score the pill but I was shocked how active he was on the boards. It’s early but I can see it being his team quick. I wasn’t sold at Duke but I think dude has star written on his resume

Like I said, special player on his own, but I don't really think that heliocentric play style wins championships.

Basically, still not that player who is enough to win a championship on his own without a really good #2, not in this era at least. Franz may very well be that guy dude needs.

Heliocentric :dahell:
Luka
Harden
LeBron
Jokic

Heliocentric player = the "offensive hub" type who orchestrates the offense by stacking points and stacking assists.

Rather have ball movement/motion offense where it's group playmaking than trying to win with one player carrying everything and holding all the decision-making.
