Mike is probably the best player, Magic is the guy that makes those around him the best and Hakeem is the best big man

No it WAS accurate and you acknowledged the change your self. How you gonna point to shyt that a nikka improved upon as a basis to downgrade him now aka after he improved? :wtf: John only has a point if Mike never improved his J or his left. It's like saying Kobe was never the best player in the L because he didn't start his first two years or Bron isn't he best player now because his defense was ass when he came into the league.

Nah bruh, he was talking about Mike as he pertained to him. Mike the GOAT, never shat on John Salley. However, Mike the future GOAT got shat on by Salley's team plenty of times.

It's like an ugly chick from HS who turned out bad. If you ask me, I'm gonna tell you she was ugly.

That is the key word. You can't just ignore what has happened and rely on what did happen when talking about something in the present tense. You would still say the girl is ugly now even though she isn't? :what: You would just ignore what has happened and focus on what used to be? :usure: It would be one thing if Salley prefaced his statement and limited his analysis to that time period but he did not. He was asked TODAY about Mike being the GOAT and said no he isn't RIGHT NOW because of shyt that happened early in his career or even before he got in the league. :wtf: That said it's not as if Mike didn't still put up numbers against the Pistons. So any way you look at it the reasoning he provided to support his claim was stupid and in turn made his entire argument look dumb. We can argue Mike being the GOAT all day. We can't just single out shyt from before he was even in the league or exaggerate shyt from early in his career and act like that defines his entire career.

He was 38 when that happened and on defense he would get ate by shaq

Hakeem got over on shaq cuz Olajuwon is a top 3 defender and the most skilled C of all time.

please click the link. hakeem wasnt better them kareem. hakeem may have had more moves but thats because he had to. he was shorter then 7 feet, and he didnt have an unstoppable move like the sky hook. look at kareem's fg% vs hakeem. 60%. hakeem wasnt slow him down. and that was an older kareem. not a milwaukee buck version.

He did preface his statement. He said "the best player I ever played against was Magic Johnson, then Larry Bird..." Then he went on to explain why those guys were tougher opponents.

You're putting words in his mouth. He never said anything abut right now. He never said Mike isn't the GOAT. He simply said he wasn't his toughest opponent, personally.

So if somebody asked me about the HS chick, I'd be like :childplease: that bytch was ugly. Or a better example, her p*ssy was wack. A nikka might say but she can fukk now. So what? I can't call her my best lay if the p*ssy was wack when I hit it. :yeshrug:

:wtf: Did you watch the video? Colin brought up Mike as GOAT and John said "He's not the greatest."

He didn't explain why anybody was tougher all he said was "Mike couldnt' go left and he couldnt' shoot in 1981." :heh:. Beyond that it's not like Mike didnt' put up numbers against the Bad Boys. He had numerous 30 and 40 pt games against them in the playoffs. I guess they just didnt' send him left in those games huh. :shaq2:

As far as the HS chick analogy goes, unless, she's a porn star you are limited to your own experiences and thus that's all you have to go on. John actually saw the rest of Mike's career including one year spent on the same team so limiting it the 80's is stupid unless of course the issue was "Who was the greatest in the 80's."

Salley been on the say Mike ain't the greatest to get attention train for more than a decade, it's nothing new. I'm all for a good debate but seriously "He couldnt' go left. All we had to do was send him left."? He must be the greatest if he can score 30 and 40 without going left. :smh:

LOL @ this idea that the Bad Boy Pistons shut Jordan down or even slowed him down, here are his averages against the Bad Boys in the 88, 89 and 90 playoffs..

1988 playoffs v. Detroit: 36.3pts 7.1rebs 4.7asts
1989 playoffs v. Detroit: 34.8pts 7.0rebs 7.6asts
1990 playoffs v. Detroit: 36.7pts 7.2rebs 6.8asts

He did his thing, its was the rest of the team specifically Grant and Pippen that had to step up in order for them to beat Detroit.

Dude asked him who is?

He responded: "The greatest player I ever played against...."

Watch the video again.

Technically he never answered the question "Who is the GOAT?" He went off on a tangent.

You're not hearing me but whatever. It's really not important to me. :yeshrug:

Back that statement up. Shaq is a beast and is somewhat underrated still. But you too young to see Kareem, so how you know he faced lesser post defense?

Shaq was facing players like alonzo mourning, dikembe mutumbo, patrick ewing, david robinson, hakeem ALL in his prime and their primes

Kareem faced 6'8 wes unseld, willis reed, bill walton, walt bellamy, and an old ass wilt, dave cowens half them dudes aint even 7 foot and none of em were as good defensively as mutumbo,d robinson or zo who all won defensive players of the year

Can't look now because I'm at work but I'll take your word for it. He's said shyt like that before in reference to the GOAT question. Part of his shtick is going on about how Mike isnt' the GOAT all the way back to the Best Damn Sports Show days. Even within the context that you presented all the nikka said was "He couldnt' go left." That was his entire argument. He can say whatever he wants about who the GOAT or best he ever played against I only take issue with faulty logic and insufficient evidence. If you were to go purely by what Salley just said you would think that MJ didn't put up 30, 7, 7 against them in the playoffs. I thought all you had to do was make him go left. :comeon:

BTW he did make reference to todays game with the handchecking comment.

Now see, this is why I'm afraid for the future of our people.

You never saw any of those cats play, not even Kareem, but you can definitively say, that they were weaker defensively as opposed to modern era centers.

You have no proof whatsoever and nothing to back that claim up except the out of context results from google's search engine.

How old are you? DId you see Unseld, Nate, Reed, etc play. Did you watch the games back then to see how they were called? If not, how can you make such a claim that they were not better defensively and you never even seen them play. Not one freaking game.

Would you say Dark Knight rises is better movie than the first one even if you hadn't seen the first Dark Knight?

Would you say Keisha got better p*ssy than Tammy even though you and Tammy aint never smashed hips.?

Are you in the business of making baseless claims just to suit your argument/agenda?

You still gave me nothing except that Wes Unseld is 6-8, but you overlook the fact the Rodman used to give centers fits at 6'9. You watch the game right? Lil shyt like that should stick in your head when you trying to make a point.

Still waiting on you to qauntify your statement man. What you just gave me is a bunch BS and means nothing cause you said nothing. All you did was name some centers from yesteryear without any reasoning to why they were lesser defensively.
