Is Martin, Fresh Prince and Wayans Bros, the big 3 for black sitcoms

BMW high school seasons is some of the best sitcom tv u will see breh.

I just found it extremely random and left field to bring up when it isn't even a black sitcom.

Outside of that if we're talking about coming of age shows it's definitely up there with the likes of everybody hates chris, Malcolm in the middle, saved by the bell, etc.

Yea it was a joke bringing it up cause we talking bout black sitcoms. But BMW is clearly a amazing show.

That shyt was hilarious. It was either the second or third episode if not the first. Entire first season of Wayans Bros was a riot. I have a DVDrip of the first season but only way I can watch the rest of the episodes is if I catch a rerun. I remember during high school watching every single Wayans Bros episode after school. They usually showed two episodes from 5pm to 6pm.

Nah stop that. Plus again black ish manages to be funny and thoughtful and pertinent which isn't easy to do. That's a serious magic trick that Jamie foxx or the wayans never even attempted to do. It takes the mantle of shows like good times and the Jeffersons and the Cosby show and a different world. Again not easy to do. And it's just a smarter show.

I can't disagree with this. Jamie Foxx and Wayans Bros never had any pretensions to being sophisticated or insightful as the bolded shows were. It was just a bunch of dudes trying to get chicks and cracking on each other. Nothing more, nothing less.

No doubt. But I give those shows an extra nod for being hilarious and having something to say. From a writing standpoint that's a very hard thing to pull off especially on a consistent basis. And these shows weren't just on for a few seasons. Cosby was on for almost 10 years. A different world was on for 5 or 6 years. That's a tough balancing act to pull off. They never sacrificed the funny for the message or vice versa
