Is Martin, Fresh Prince and Wayans Bros, the big 3 for black sitcoms

I guess you have to be into that sort of humor. But it is not altogether different from anything else the wayans have done (specifically shawn and marlon). All the movies / projects they did afterwards (e.g. scary movie) had the same sort of crude humor.

I liked Jamie Foxxx show. I wouldn't put it above Wayans Bros (personal opinion) but it was pretty funny. I wonder if they released all seasons on DVD.

I don't think it's a bad show. But Top 3?

Like lets be real. Martin and Fresh Prince is in a league of its own. So even comparing the other 90 sitcoms to those are a losing battle to begin with.

The bernie mac show and girlfriends didn't start until the 2000s hit. Even then everybody hates Chris was the best black sitcom to come out of that time period.

The wayan bros is definitely better than the Jamie Foxx show, Moesha, and living single

I just remember Shawn Wayans trying to say those horrible lines/jokes and they all falling flat. He might be one of the worst actors ever

You are entitled to your opinion fam, I just say it is a personal classic to me. The only complaint I can see nikkas having with the show is the abrupt ending, but other than that the jokes was on point and i was truly sad to see the show end. To this day I quote that show verbatim.

Bernie Mac was a 2000s show I think breh, not 90s so it shouldn't enter the convo. Never watched Girlfriends or Living Single. Always felt like Girlfriends was for chicks more then dudes so I was never interested but watching it while I'm older now with a different perspective would be cool.

I never really watched a lot of Martin, I suppose I should change that. I have all the episodes on my computer.

Steve Harvey show was great too. The main chick in it was fiine. I forget her name.

Maaan 90s had a lot of great black shows. I struggle when I think of any decent shows that came out in the last ten years.

Damn two posts too late. I didn't really grow up in the nineties though so I only watched re-runs of the other shows.

I haven't watched the majority of the Cosby Show, Living Single, Good Times, The Jeffersons, or Family Matters so my opinion may be

In no order:

1. Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
2. My Wife and Kids
3. Bernie Mac Show
4. The Jamie Foxx Show
5. Martin
6. Wayans Bros
7. Sanford and Son
8. A Different World
9. Everybody Hates Chris
10. The Steve Harvey Show

Girlfriends core was def more for chicks but it's a very solid show up until toni left.

Again im not bashing wayne bros. But top 3 is a very huge stretch.
