I like the movie, its about what I expected for this type of film. I really appreciated the practical effects used in the film.

I respect the detailed response, and dapped/repped you for it. The world building you referenced would have been actually powerful if the movie wasn't essentially a reboot of the franchise. The plebs you called out all praised the movie for its technical achievements, if not as detailed as you put it. If I never knew what the fukk Mad Max was, I wouldn't have been moved by the world building dialogue you brought up. I'd instead be in my seat at the theater wondering what the hell they were talking about. As a stand alone movie, the plot/dialogue was not engaging enough to make the film more than just a great visual, action experience. If I never read The Lord of the Rings, I could understand the world they were building by paying attention. They built up that world perfectly. I agree that most movies rely way too much on exposition to communicate with audiences. But this movie could have used a bit more exposition to build up its world.

I strongly disagree. And I have already explained why in the OG Mad Max thread so I won't repeat it here, but all the information you need about the world is in the movie itself, it largely just depends on your attention to the details (of which there are many).

Most people have better things to do than watch a film 12 times within months of release to find all those details.

Might as well call max daddy with how much time you've spent looking up to him this year :dame:

Thought it was good, along with the visuals and landscape.

But it's no great action movie and as a chase movie it's not touching any of the Bourne movies :yeshrug:

Overrated compared to classic action movies, but still decent/good compared to the ones in today's market.

I'm not a Mad Max stan or an action junkie, but this movie was great.

I didn't need the plot explained to me with copious amounts of dialogue, it was a visual movie. When critics talk about how great the acting was, it's because the main players were able to convey all the emotion necessary without spelling it out with words to the viewers. That's a unique take on modern movie making and it deserves props for trying to change the idea that viewers are too stupid (or the acting is too bad) to get the main points without some "this is what I learned today" explanation after every scene. In my opinion, it deserves the praise it gets. It was visually stunning and the acting was top-notch.

Started watching this movie again today.....:mjlol:. Half my nikkas were :snooze: an hour in.

I've got no clue how this movie is this hyped. This dude max shouldn't have lasted past the sand storm :russ:. Why the hell am I supposed to care about these characters at all? Please someone tell me why. This may be my biggest problem with the whole flick. The movie gives me no reason to give one fukk about any of the characters at all. If they died in a huge fiery crash at the end I would've been like :russell:

The reason why all the actors can communicate nonverbal is because the plot is so thin:mjlol:. There's literally nothing to communicate. Like say I'm riding shotgun in a car and I need my homie to take a left. All I have to do is point left. That's this movie. The plot is literally that thin. Fanboys will twist this into a positive. It's not. :beli:. The dialogue is mainly grunts and points cause of the simplicity of the plot which is "drive left fast", "drive back fast", "don't die".

The deepest "symbolism" in this movie is literally spelled out on a wall:russ:. Y'all nikkas man.
The action is great but that shyt got mad tiring an hour and a half in. This will be one of the movies younger generations will look back on like :beli: "I thought this shyt was a classic".

Movies like this make me really see how different ppl are. I honestly can not see how one watches this movie and comes away like "wow this is the best action film of the decade and the best movie of the year". I just don't understand :mindblown:

I didn't care for this film. In fact I turned it off halfway through. I have literally seen pornos with more character development, and the action scenes are so non-stop, ridiculous, unreal, over the top and overstimulating that they actually become boring rather quickly. The plot, while simplistic, is at the same time confusing and hard to follow. In addition, I get really annoyed with the stupid "badass tough girl" cliche they keep putting in movies these days.
