never seen a team.trade a player of mack caliber as a catalyst to a great rebuildThis is a complete tear down and rebuild, so I'm not sure why you guys come in every week expecting this team to play good. Or shocked by how bad they play. We have ZERO talent. They're a horrible team. Gruden knew it once he saw the team live and direct, that's why he traded damn near half the team, including our best player. It's why hes gonna trade Cooper and likely cut Carr. We're not even close and won't be for a minute.
This team isn't gonna be good for another 3 years at minimum. He's gonna try to get as many draft picks as possible and try to build a championship team from the ground up. Will it work? Who knows. But that's what it is.
Ownership signed Gruden thinking "Oh, he'll take us to a championship quickly". Gruden more than likely agreed. Until Gruden actually saw the team play up close and realized "Oh wait, these nikkas are trash. I gotta start over". Now here we are.
2016 was a mirage. Not reality. We had a bunch of comeback/miracle wins that year. We fooled ourselves into thinking the roster was good when it never was. At it's peak it was a solid/okay team. We never really had enough talent to be an elite team. We just had one magical year from Carr, which is gone ever since the injury. It is what it is.
