I remember the phone call. I didnt read every post in here but all I see is posts about LL starting this beef because he was sensitive over a line. That is not what happened. The "situation" L was speaking of was when they had met to do the song and Bis kept telling him he wanted to get a tattoo of a mic on his arm and L kept tellin him, nah, do you. basically dont be bitin my shyt. then he saw Bis somewhere and Bis said he was goin to the parlor right then to get the tat. thats when L put down the verse aimed at Bis. Bis was like L's son as far as his idolatry of him as you can hear in the call. yes, L was basically being a jerk to a kid that was probably his biggest fan and he didnt understand that he was just a kid that wanted to idolize him but the beef wasnt over the verse....the shots were in relation TO the origin of the verse.

That was still sucka ish though. Because 'Bis was telling him that he admired him the whole time At the time, Canibus wasn't even into tats like that. but when he saw L's (which is a fire tat for an MC), he was in awe. He didn't even tell L he wanted the same exact thing. only something similar.

The way I heard the story was that 'Bis verse was first, and when L heard the "Is that a mic on your arm, lemme borrow that" he wrote his ish aimed at Canibus. He told Canibus to take off that line, which he did, but implied that he would lay an entirely different verse so no one would know about their incident. He never did. People instantly assumed it was about Canibus, and everyone knew for sure when he wasn't in the video, replaced with Master P. THEN Canibus got that tat.

2nd Round KO was a CRAZYYYY diss & Lyor kinda had Canibus blackballed as a favor to LL lol. Along with his debut album being trash because of Wyclef

I felt that Canibus won the battle against LL Cool J...but LL won the war

It also didn't help that Wackclef ruined his debut album

If Canibus 2000bc came out first things would've been way different because 2000bc is a lyrical masterpiece
