Is LL Cool J vs Canibus the dumbest start to a beef in rap history?

LL basically became egotistical and threw a tantrum over a line that was harmless. Totally derailed a promising career. He probably intended to have the beef just to squash Canibus.

It's nice that they eventually put it all to rest but still doesn't change the fact that LL seemingly manufactured the whole thing to crush a upstart rapper for the props it got him.

LL started it for nothing. Canibus (at the time) was an incredible lyricist with tons of hype, and LL, feeling that he was the GOAT, wanted to kill him on wax lol

2nd Round KO was a CRAZYYYY diss & Lyor kinda had Canibus blackballed as a favor to LL lol. Along with his debut album being trash because of Wyclef

Didn't 50 - Ross start because 50 gave Ross a dirty look at a award show or something :mjlol:
50 disses people cause he's a troll. He's always got a beef or two going on. If you reach the top he's gonna have something to say about you.

I never realized this came from those Beef documentaries

LL was bytch for that. Recording a diss on a collab track after the fact. All because Canibus wanted to borrow a metaphorical microphone :francis:

shyt was so small time Bis probably would have just apologized if he asked for one in the first place.
it was a fake misunderstanding. The idea of the beef popped in LL's head and he had the :mjlit: face.

KRS was on that same shyt

It's like they said in that beef clip posted LL would make soft tracks with Boyz II Men to chart and go platinum then on the album get street cats and respected artist for posse cuts. The streets would let him get away with it even if they questioned him at first. Canibus was a speed bump to keep his street cred up. He roasted him so bad on that Ripper Strikes Back. Canibus came at him with facts and truth and LL just straight roasted him.

It actually makes more sense if you look at LL the same way sports fan look at Jordan. He’s just an over the top hyper competitive guy who perceives everything as a slight because he WANTS to compete with you. Everything is a challenge to breh. Dude wasn’t setting Canibus up to end his career, he just can’t help himself. His whole career is based in that type of sensitivity.

Wyclef did more to hurt Canibus career then LL :russ:
Naw Wyclef got the blame but Canibus tried to do too much to please too many people. He should have just stuck in his lane. I kinda quit following him after his second album which was straight and what his first should have been. He got all weird after that.
