Is Kenny Omega a bigger draw than Sting? Davy Smeltzer seems to be hinting so

Kenny Omega is the biggest difference making full time wrestler. I can’t see how that’s debated at this point. Sting was up and down as a draw, but the numbers his match with Rollins did should have cast his performance in the 90s in a new light, if people that were broke kids during his height, now spent money to see him as adults.

People actually PAID for the PPV to see Sting debut at the Survivor Series in 2014 when they were openly advertising the event was free if you subscribed to the network.

It’s pretty much all fun, unintentional comedy at this point.

Sting’s legacy is quite secure.

More unreturned PPV wins over Hogan than anyone in history

There’s still solid demand for a match that’s about 21 years past it’s expiration date involving Sting

folks gotta knock the silly shyt off

Kenny is building. It doesn’t need to be much deeper than that.

Based on what? He’s only wrestled like twice this whole year

He’s not a bigger difference maker than THE BIG DOG:krs: if we gonna keep it all the way 100.

I mean, the tweet Dave is responding makes no fukking sense in the first place. Of course Dave follows it up by full retard because that's what he does when it comes to AEW/The Elite guys :mjlol:
Wasn't New Japan still struggling to sell out tickets with kenny on top? :pachaha:
.

Not really, they did sell out a huge show (King of Pro Wrestling at Sumo Hall) without a card 1 week before the event. Kenny vs Cody vs Ibushi main evented that one :pachaha:

Comparing the business now to what it was in 97 is apples and oranges. Everything is amplified now because of losers that spam twitter. A lot of fake superstars out there these days.

Wrestling was actually mainstream back then and Sting was one of the biggest stars. Meltzer is a clown

He singled out Sting but this is more an indictment on TNA than him and it also ignores that AEW has benefitted from Wrestling having a dissatisfied customer base and found a way to market and motivate people very smartly and marketed talented people well to be make them attractions.

Lets not overthink this. Yes Sting wasnt the draw Flair was but there's also been this debate about what he could have done in a bigger pond be it WCW or TNA that had pushed the overall product.

Certainly you can argue at WCW's peak and in his WWE run which were probably his biggest drawing moments he had other guys who were just as much if not a bigger draw but again in both instances (NWO, seeing him wrestle triple H at Mania) people wanted to see Sting

So again theres so many factors that depend on who is a draw or not and not just the guy.

Also if Dave is trying to say Sting wasnt draw Kenny was thats not taking into account a lot of factors that he would normally do if it was another pair of wrestlers and I would argue they bout the same.
Kenny's done Tokyo Dome and these All Elite shows but hes also played to small ass gyms that didnt sell out during this peak run so it is what it is

I dont believe there is a single entity draw in this current era like in previous ones, even Brock, Cena etc need to be paired or part of a big card vs on their own.

First of all TNa never left the fukkin impact zone
For him to sell out anything

Lets just pretend tna actually went to arenas

TNA ran in arenas all across the country.

they wouldn't have gotten to that point without sting tho, so Meltzer is a dikkhead carrying a hidden grudge.

I think he just posted that to show that they did travel outside of the impact zone, it's clear as day that the ppv hasn't even begun yet.
