Is Kendrick Lamar the best execution of an industry plant in the history of music?

I get what u are saying...my question is why is it a bad thing

:dwillhuh:

youre not really into hip-hop like that, are you?

Say man don't be quoting me and then going a back and editing....I see you....but on the real its whatever ...I still don't know why being a plant is so bad....when the no.1 rapper or at least most popular rapper out doesn't even write his rhymes...I left this new generation behind long ago but I've seen similar pushes to artists since 85 when I first got into hip hop...and I bet u some of them were plants too...I'm rambling now cause I just hit the after work blunt

lol. naw. I edited it before you responded. but you prolly started responding already. I wasn't trying to edit on no sneak chit tho. but my bad.

drake was a plant too breh. aint nobody defending that clown over here.

as for the bolded, plants are nothing new to the music industry. but feel free to name these rappers THAT MATTERED who were plants. i'll wait.

I loved hip hop until I got older probably right up until about age 30 and the last 10 yrs I've really let that shyt go....still fukk with my classics....but I still consider myself a music nerd tho ...as far as who is a plant and who isn't I can truly say I don't care especially at age 40

I did not name anyone cause I don't know or care...but based on what this thread is about I'd be willing to bet that there are many more but once again to me it doesn't matter unless the whole entire thing is fake ....like drake or Cardi b

What a weird thing to obsess over. 99% of noteworthy rappers today are "industry plants." They all get signed before the public knows, they all get help in terms of promo/placements/etc. Why are you mad at a label for doing it's fukking job?

Last time I checked, Kendrick went triple plat last year and did a sold out arena tour. He just finished a sold out tour in Europe. Someone explain how a label guarantees that for you. If you don't have fans or music people like, you aren't going to make it in this business no matter how many buttons are pushed. Ask Tinashe, Vic Mensa, Asher Roth, and a host of other failures

Don’t know how I ended up here but NAH!
As of now, it’s Cardi B. I’ve never seen such an undeveloped artist have such a rollout and break “records” disregarding the new RIAA measuring system and social media being a HUGE factor. Which, nothing is necessarily wrong with that, but it’s just obvious someone put 2 and 2 together and made million(s) *I think?*

some of yall are taking the board backwards with some of these responses.

this looks like a reply from 2012 or something.

just say you like Kendrick and youre not sure what an industry plant is.

a non-stop ridiculous push with paid-for accolades & awards spanning nearly a decade will get you that.

and hes just NOW starting to do big tours.:heh:

at least cardi's initial rise was organic, and she had a legit massive hit.

but yea, after that, her push was definitely phoney. but at least her come-up was legitimate before the forced crossover,

with that said; shes a pawn. not a plant.

He can't. and he's definitely sure what an industry plant is but doesn't want to admit it.

That's the common play for these cosign-dependent rappers and their stans. The stans pretend it's not a big deal and it applies to everyone, when in fact they know it is a big deal and the forced organic come-up doesn't apply to everyone.

I just now read your response. so I replied.

you said there were a bunch of plants in hip-hop back in the day. then when asked to name them. you suddenly don't care anymore.
