Halle Berry made her bed with Monster Ball and lost Black men support right there, but she further continued to "divest" and marginalize her bloodline. Bob Marley is 180 degree to opposite. Exodus Movement of the People, Buffalo Soldier, with offspring that is all Black.

Yeah, that was my point. I didn’t know what the person I quoted was getting at

Yes, she's black to me. I don't care what smart dumb nikkas on the coli who think they know it all believe. It's my opinion and I'm riding with it.

Because she is the vice president, and has one black parent. There can be comments on a forum debating her blackness.

But race is a social decision.

If she was in the jim crow south, she would be black.

If she was across the street and you were pointing in her direction you would say "near that black lady"

Blackness isn't something to sit down, pontificate about and make a decision. It is decided by society at large. Once one is regarded as black by society then they are absolutely black.

Case in point: people who successfully "pass", (or, anatole broyard) if they do so they have to remove themselves from their entire family and start anew. One just can't have a black family member and "pass". If that was the case than malcolm x mom would have been able to successfully pass and she didn't.

I know jim crow era was a long time ago, (kamala was born in 1965, so she would absolutely be regarded as black growing up in the late 60s) but the way we see blackness is stil viewed through that lens.

Race in America isn't whiteness, and minorities. It is who is black and who is not.

And kamala is most certainly black.

I read some comments in here and think: have y'all ever taken a history class?

Gotta have at least 51% black dna to be considered black imo :umad:
Theoretically yes, but genealogy and phenotype do not always go along like that. Africans and the diaspora tend to have dominant traits. This is how the one drop rule was implemented and in Spanish and Portuguese colonies multiple segments for African offsprings.

her mom’s is completely Indian
her father is West Indian’s / Caribbean “coolie”
... if you know what that means

Donald-Jasper-Harris.jpg

The question people have is, is he and does he consider himself Afro-Caribbean (Afro-Jamaican)?

And no, he is not a “Cooli”. The word you mean by the way is “dougla”, which he’s neither. The man is of African descent (with a white father I believe), not of East Asian descent.

Just chiming in....

She'll pass for black w/ white folks. She's closer to looking like a black woman than not, and she went to Howard University, so many black folks will accept her as one of their own. :yeshrug:

Unfortunately, I'm not one of those black folks. :camby:

Its a cultural thing. IMO, she's really the worst TYPE. You went to an HBCU, came out as a lawmaker, and still tried to stick it to black folks??? :mjtf: Then, you already see what her family looks like. :mjpls:

Theres no way, this woman truly identifies as a black woman inside. Now, as smart and accomplished as someone is, I believe you can still be misguided. I could see her with a cat like Barack, that identifies more w/ his black side, plus is intectually on her level, and as accomplished, that would inadvertently strengthen her ties to her black side. Maybe that right brotha never came along to save her. :yeshrug:

Nonetheless, I don't corrolate her to no strong black woman shyt. She has illustrated, shes one of those ppl that plays her black card, when it benefits her, numerous times. :mjpls:

FOH wit that c00n shyt. Shes a fraud, til proven otherwise.:camby:

Vast .majority of the caribbean don't follow the one drop rule. That should give you your answer right there.

You mean, Black American experience. Which, regardless of all that other yin-yang, if you any of those black variants living in america for long enough, it will become your experience, whether you want it to or not. That ain't no hustle, just is what it is.

Being black in America doesn’t mean LINEAGE is the same. A Black American expat in Nigerian becomes a Nigerian after a while but they wouldn’t necessarily be Yoruba for example.

fukk no :laff:!!! She’s not even half black like Barack and her mulatto Jamaican side were unapologetic slave owners. Her father Donald, does not think of himself as black (hard to disagree with him :hubie:).

She’s 25% black at most.
You’d think it’s a fairly simple concept, no?
