I don't think Joe Johnson was telling ownership "Thanks for the $123 million contract offer. I think I'm worth about $75 million". Don't blame Joe Johnson for accepting that contract, blame the dude that offered it to him. Same for other overpaid max guys.

Im not saying he did. Im saying that for the effort he gives him nor the management will ever live that down. And it wasnt necessary for them to do that esp since they had guys like smith and were a playoff team. At least with the knicks they hadnt made the playoffs in 7 years and didnt have shyt on their roster

It's not even about the effort. It's about the fact that the #3 guy (AT BEST. Maybe the #4) guy on that 04-05 Suns team got 2 huge, googol-sized contracts. I don't care how much effort he puts out, he just flat out isn't good enough to live up to that deal.
