for example, the way he covered dylan's "all along the watchtower" and took it in a another whole direction and sound was genius

prince was great. his 80's run was damn near unbelievable (his music, the music he wrote/produced/arranged for the time, vanity 6/apollonia 6, the bangles, stevie nicks, sheena easton etc) from like 80' to 87', prince was on a remarkable run

So help me out on Jimi. I have slowly bought his albums over the years and absorb it like fine wine. I have the three studio albums released while he was alive, plus Blues, House of the New Rising Sun, South Saturn Delta, Valleys of Neptune, People, Hell, and Angels, and some live albums. What am I missing that I need to get, because the rest appears to be barrel scraping? Some of that is even evident on the above albums, but some of the alternate takes are amazing too, because he could put many spins on his tracks.
