Larry was the driving force behind seinfield and he proved that with curb.

Jerry been scared to death to do anything after seinfeld becaise he knows it wont measure up. He knows larry gifted him something.
Larry tried to leave seinfeld after the first four episodes were filmed. Creative writers is what drove seinfeld. Then you had larry and jerry to filter their ideas. David mandel (veep showrunner) larry charles, alec berg etc are just as big a reason for the sucess of the show as jerry and larry.

and Larry left after season seven, and 8&9 have some of the best moments/characters introduced. People really acting like jerry was just along for the ride?

Lol, jerry needed a whole team to keep him up.

Now you mention even more talent behind the show that went on to do other successful projects while jerry does nothing but coast.

Cats mentioning Larry's succes, does CYE even get made if he wasn't a part of Seinfeld? He's pretty much playing himself in the show.

Wouldnt you coast? Guy had retired with 300 million and wanted to start a family with his girlfriend. He does what he wants to just like larry does. He did that bee movie which made dbl its budget. The comedian show with cars or whatever its called. Larry does what he wants to also. Curb is done when hes bored which is why they took 5 years off. Larrys movies he made post seinfeld failed miserably. So if you go by projects, jerry has had more successful ones since the end of seinfeld than larry.

and those guys got the shot because of seinfeld/curb/the simpsons (which many of seinfelds writers came from)

Jordan was gonna pull a Seinfeld. But if stayed retired, his run would probably be more historic than him.

That aura wouldn’t be enough to substantiate itself throughout posterity.

Jordan turned Magic and Larry into Stevie and Marvin to his MJ (pun intended?).

When he doubled back for the second 3peat is when MJ became a historical figure.

You don’t put 2 threepeats in the library of congress, u put the man himself in there.

You don’t put Jerry in the library of congress, u put Seinfeld there and that’s what OP is getting at.

Jerry is an iconic one hit wonder. He’s the old town road of comedians.

Michael Jackson in his wildest dreams couldn’t do OTR numbers.

But Michael is beyond numbers. Jerry did nothing to transcend that show.

Yea, he doesn’t have to, but you’re not gonna call Jerry the best anything of all time the same way you’re not gonna call Nas X the greatest anything of all time.

They both were just involved in something that could be called the greatest something.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
You win, OK? Jerry Seinfeld is a one hit wonder. Cool

He's a comedian at his core, stand-up is what his passion is. He got a chance to make hundreds of millions on a sitcom, and then went back to doing what he really likes, shows in comedy clubs. With bags of money being tossed intermediately at him to do a movie voice or Netflix show here and there. Great for him
That's all the fukk I was saying... But here's the kicker.. I really wanted a goddamn answer to the question....

Has anyone pulled this off? I keep bringing up Ray Romano... He had a hit show for a few years and said fukk this shyt

Joffery from Game of Thrones was a top actor on that show and said fukk it and quit

Who else did some shyt like this? Just said "I'm good" and up and left

you can copy it to the OP but he's saying the opposite of what you said
in your original OP you asked why is Jerry IN the Library of Congress
This post is saying that he is NOT
No I didn’t. What the hell?

Now that I went back and reread my OP, I clearly didn’t diss him too bad. Said bee movie flopped. That was about the only “diss”

I really was questioning how someone could do one great thing and never anything else AND still be considered a top comedian. Jim Carey ain’t no top comedian even with all his hit comedic acting jobs. Eddie Murphy got money and hits and still making them. Carlin had classicS. Pryor had classicS.

I really was marveled that when you really break it down, this man acted in one show and was hosted FOREVER. Archie bunker didn’t do that. Feel me? That’s all. I wasn’t trying to shyt on him. Thread devolved into me having to explain one hit wonder 50 times

Seinfeld was the ultimate one hit wonder. shyt hit so wonderfully it made the star a goat that didn't really have to do anything else.

Chris Tucker is the only other cat that comes to mind. nikkas had him as one of the best out just based off a handful of movies. Nobody really calls dude a goat now, but I used to hear that shyt thrown around years ago during the rush hour 2 era.
