I started going to a therapist earlier this year, but I really aint get much out of it. I can see the value in it, but you just gotta find the right person.

Eventually I'll start back going again but I fixed the issue I was dealing with on my own.

It's not weak for anyone to go to therapy......There is a real harmful outlook towards talk therapy in general, regardless of color or community, but esp. in the lower income communities...some is financially based, but a lot is just regressive, ignorant thinking.....I know half dozen people in my circle that should go see a therapist, but they refuse....The women who do it based on 'being a strong person', or their belief in religion are the most frustrating and near hopeless causes....ignorance and being stubborn aren't strength, and internalizing pain, dysfunction etc (as opposed to treating it) will fukk you up for the rest of your life.

Weak? :childplease:

Frankly it doesn't matter whether anyone considers it weak anyway. Ain't nobody gonna know you going except for you.
