Drill Movement is in full swing in the streets. This isn't 2005-2017 anymore.

ATL is not going anywhere and is putting itself in a position much like Los Angeles where you dont have to be from there but you do go there because the infrastructure is there:
  • the labels
  • the lawyers
  • the studios
  • the PR firms
So even as the primary "hot & upcoming" (resurgent rap scenes like Detroit and Florida) start showing who their talents is, eventually those acts will go to either ATL or LA to collab and expand their brand.
Doesnt mean they wont still rep where they from originally but lets be real...
This is the natural progression of any rap artist thats blowing up.
So even when the "ATL rapper" persona starts to cool off the ATL infrastructure will continue to thrive.
Much like filming in Georgia - even when Tyler Perry falls off the studio he built is gonna keep attracting film productions coming to ATL.
Its a mix of both affordability and the fact that ATL has always been a transplant city so people dont get super deep in their feelings about folks not being from from ATL.
