Kelis' first two albums were decent.
Their earlier shyt was outdated even then. Always reminded me of some Sonic level board music shyt. Outside of Jay/Clipse, most of the shyt they put out was trash. They got much better to me in 05 when Slim Thug came out

This is true, most of their shyt from 99-02 is just 
when you hear it now, not to mention they went through that "sell everybody the same beat" phase that most popular producers went through. Thank god for the Blueprint, cause NY rap was sounding 
with all that keyboard shyt in the late 90's-early 2000's.

If you always thought they were awful, it has nothing to with how the beats aged. Aging awfully is when a song that sounded great in '98 now sounds obsolete against today's stuff. That or, a song that sounded great in '98 sounds like garbage now.
