Is it ok to get a lil starter girlfriend or wife, then upgrade once you career takes off?

It makes sense. If you're a female who was with a dude when he had nothing, he's gonna look at you as a low value chick when he finally gets put on. Like, "you still wanted me when I wasn't shyt, so you must not be shyt yourself. "

If you're a regular dude with a chick from day one, you should already know she's going to upgrade when she gets a chance.

On topic yes, especially if the upgrade can improve you're life/hand you new opportunities beyond looks.

If the Day One cooks, cleans, takes care of you, is a good person, etc. And the upgrade doesn't, don't do it.
Upgrade all aspects, not just looks.

Men do it all the time, this is why I only date men that are already rich. As my dad always says, "do you wanna be the chick jay z wrote song cry for or do you wanna be Beyoncé".

Do I wanna be torrei hart or do I wanna be eniko?

That's just not right. What if your wife cleans out your bank account in the case that you start going broke or get injured. Not much of Tyler Perry movie watcher but like what that chick did to that lawyer in "Diary of a Mad Black Woman." You'll be hurt and looking for the first one again but she may have moved on.
