Chet's better; kid is shooting damn near 50-40-90 as a 7'1+ rookie. :picard:He's the one the so called "draft experts" should've been paying attention to and trying to hype up with the generational "KD but even taller" comparisons; Wemby is a statue with the ball in his hands in comparison. And he isn't an NBA level player when it comes to shooting it either; how you 7'6 or whatever and shooting only 43% from the field???? :dead:Man is putting up Jordan Poole shooting splits... when should be able to dunk the ball literally without leaving the ground. :russ: You can see the DPOY level ceiling on the other end... but in terms of the "Best prospect in the history of the sport" he is NOWHERE close, in any capacity. Him and Scoot raw as hell, completely unfinished products compared to what they were being hyped up as.

Chet is really not a rookie

People mentioning not knowing a). He’s not really a rookie and B). He has a much better team around him.

Wemby will be fine. He’s going through what most 1 picks go through.

It's football season.
This.

NFL >>> CFB>>>>>>> all other sports until the February.

Wemby can ball but he'll be under the radar until the Spurs get more pieces around him.

Then......once the Spurs become decent (playoff hunt/50 wins a year), ESPN will do everything in their power to facilitate him signing with LAL, the Knicks/Nets, Boston or Miami. Even if he's 100% happy in San Churrotonio, someone will say that "their sauces indicate he wants to play ball with LuhBrahnnnn", even 44 year old Bron.

man I was checking standings yesterday and seen SA only won 3 games :hhh:

it doesn’t fall (solely) on him but yeah it becomes harder for ppl to be hyped about him when the team is absolute shyt

doesn’t help that chet (his main competitor for ROY coming into the season) is essentially doing “what he does” but on a winning team…might sound silly but there’s definitely some truth to it

Raw numbers?

2003, 2007, and 2023 weren't remotely comparable pace or spacing to compare raw numbers straight up like that.

The Spurs have the 3rd-worse offensive rating in the league and they still average 112 ppg. LeBron's Cavs had a slightly above-average offense and yet only averaged 93 ppg. There were 5 squads that averaged in the 80s that year, with the Raptors bottoming out at 85ppg.

2003 was when they allowed zones, but they didn't further relax hand-checking until the next year, and spacing was still horrible. Bron's teammates averaged 2.2 made threes a game that year. I'm not kidding - TWO made threes a game. One each half.

Victor is a good player though, and he's doing better than I expected to his rookie season. Hasn't even turned 20 yet. Anyone talking like he's a bust or disappointing is clueless.
