i think it only boils down to peoples lack of knowledge when watchin mma...back in the day u wud jus see alotta brawls because it wasnt as technical but, people cant understand or know what ther lookin at wen it comes to ground work because people kno nothing of and in this day and age people dnt wanna educate themselves they jus wanna be quickly entertained........thats why boxin is always popular cuz the common joe kno its jus punchn only and who gets hit the most looses...

yeah the amount of time off that yellah faq @ ww gets is an injustice. Ideally he really shouldnt be champ they just keep it on him because of what he represents to whites/gays..The move to put the WW div on hold even when it has an interim and a no# 1 contender was just counterproductive

I have been saying this for the longest time.Case in point anderson silva, the job they've done on him is unforgivable but then again zuffa know their target audience.U can tell ufc drones hes the greatest all day long but if all they are lookin to do is idol worship fighters that share their likeness its a waste of time.

Moreso the lack of starpower. Most of the champs have that "nice guy" aura about them. Its hard for them to market some of these guys, but i think their marketing dept is lacking in trying to build up some of their more exciting fighters

yup cant argue there, when u take an inventory of ufc "stars" in recent history the only name that pops up is jon jones.They can try to push faber but hes hindered by his size, cruz has no star quality.Aldo was already suffering from american xenophobia but now he doesnt even fight with reckless abandonment like he use to so its for him.Cards are disposed at such a rapid pace there is no proper build for the average fan to become accustomed to headlined fights or the new wave coming up

I was always a boxing fan so i'm biased but i never thought MMA had the potential for longevity as a sport because most of it's fans weren't fans of the technical aspects of the sport like football or Basketball fans.
They were mostly just over the top WWE type fans who had 1 favorite fighter that they wanted to see win and if that guy lost they stopped watching. and obviously as people in this thread have pointed out since white fighters are losing their dominance, white fans are also losing their interest.
White football fans don't care if the starting quarterback on their favorite team in black. Nor do black basketball fans care if the leading scorer on their team is asian or whatnot.(Notwithstanding the asian Jeremy Lin Fans, Betcha all them will stop watching basketball the second Lin retires or falls off)

I dont think his brain would be the same after Anderson was done with him. He cant take anderson down, he cant out strike him but he has a nice chin.

Anderson has said in the past hes not interested in light heavyweight and the only times hes done it was because dana begged him. Dana better get that money up if he wants that fight to happen.

1) Old guards retiring. No Tito, Couture, Lidell, and other guys who exposed UFC to the mainstream. Its like when Jordan retired in 98 and everyone was like who the fukk are these guys
2) Problems marketing guys. They either have bland, boring fighters (GSP, Edgar) or guys who can't speak english. There is no reason why Anderson Silva should still have translators when hes been champ for six years. Another thing is the demographics they market to. They seem to be content with marketing their shyt strictly for redneck cacs. Guys like Jones and Silva should be huge in the black community but they are not.
