Oversaturation and lack of stars. These fighters need to learn to market themselves to the public. Knocking cats out and winning ain't enough.

they just dont understand the intricacies of the ground game and submission fighting (bjj), and their insecurities and/or their latent homosexual tendencies makes it unbearable to watch..

time to come out of the closet clowns

i would love to see some of you guys be in a bjj ground game battle with someone you consider a faq and watch them rip your arm out of its socket

Word. Those guys in their underwear that you think are fags would actually choke you out with your own arm. But, people are stupid, so :ld:

it has nothing to with race, you idiots always bringing up race.. are just that , idiots

it has to do with over saturation of the product, plus you got a few champs who are hard to market to the American audience because they barely speak english.. to say it's race related is absolutely stupid though, it's about personalities, marketable fighters and oversaturation

look at brock .. he sucked at MMA, but he sure did pack the stands and get the best buyrates.. why is that? not cuz he's white, but because he was marketable.

some of you people always pullin' the race card will always be stuck in life as losers when you're always lookin' to blame shyt on that.. are there times race causes issue? sure. is this one of them? no

And that American audience is mostly unathletic young white boys. That's where the disconnect is. There will be no issues marketing JDS and Anderson Silva to minorities regardless of the language barrier. They finish fights in a stylish fashion that nikkas just gravitate to.

Injuries and pissing hot have hurt the UFC in the last year. With that being said they are still putting up good numbers.

I don't even watch it anymore, maybe if it's a big named main event I may watch the replay ONLINE. Ppv every month, sometimes 2x.. tv show, replays, tons of fighters, everyone thinking they mma material. Over saturation at its best.

Never was a big fan of it, (I'm a boxing nikka 1st) but I did used to mess with the UFC/MMA pretty decent. From just the outside looking in...

-Most of the old stars are retiring and getting out the game

-UFC cards were over marketed to death and pretty soon shyt got redundant

-The emergence of bigger black stars and stars from other countries, I don't care what nikkas say but that always plays a part in white male dominated sports. Some cacs gotta feel that they relate to the top guys somehow. Why you think you got so many of them shytting on the NBA and saying it's some thug league. They don't have their Birds or Stockton anymore at the top so they feel disconnected with the sport. Blowing every black athlete issue outta proportion is their way of bowing out gracefully.

I won't say MMA is dead or dying though. It's just going through a rough patch like any other sport. nikkas were always saying boxing is dying than a fight like Corrales/Castillo comes along and makes cats forget about the robbery that happened the week before.

UFC needs to start making fights that people want to see and stop trying to protect their faves

Dana Whites constant gum flapping is also ruining the product..he talks way too much

WAR Diaz vs Silva!!!

it was a good card but reports are that it had 2 million viewers, Chavez Jr's last fight on HBO, a premium channel, did 1.9 million viewers. when youre on FOX, a major basic channel available to everybody, and do 2 million, thats not a good look at all. The excuse is that they went against the olympics, the excuse last time was that it went against the opening of "The Avengers", i think in reality people just arent that interested.

This. Dana is always making excuses, he is supposed to its business but the truth is the casuals have tuned out.

Yeah just like WWE, they got alittle buzz from 05-08 so they figured they couls open up the market and sign with Fox and put on am event every 2 weeks well all their old legends like Tito, Chuck, Hughes, Rampage, Silva, and maybe GSP are all getting old

i just cant get behind JDS, Jones, Aldo, Cruz, Bareo, etc

i only watch online and i miss it being on Spike

The reality of it is people like to root for their own. I have no problem with that. Asians will root for asians, blacks for blacks, whites for whites, etc. The majority of the US is made of white americans & the UFC was able to create white stars. The lack of white stars does hurt.

There are a combination of other things as well. The UFC was the "new" thing, but that wore off. Too many shows. Fighters fear getting cut, so will do just enough to win instead of trying to finish fights, etc.

Having said that, they are still doing good. Combat sports in general, whether boxing or mma, it's hard to maintain the attention of the casual fan. Casual fans just care for big fights & miss out on alot of goods one.
